We come to this shop regularly. To be clear, this is not a cafe, but a shop that serves hot drinks that you can enjoy at the indoor/outdoor seating provided. In fact, you can eat anything bought within the shop at the seating. My partner always has the sausage rolls, he says they are the best he's had. The coffee is great too. Courtyard out back is a real sun trap, and the extra seating added to the front of the shop is a great bonus. The range of products on offer is truly tempting, and the service always exceptional! We will be be back!

A masterclass today in how not to welcome customers - no greeting on entering the shop; making you wait whilst standing at the counter to pay for goods despite there being no other customers waiting; no engagement or conversation; a complete disinterest in whether you are there or not, yet rather strangely, quite gushing to a lady who was local! The fact that only 2 people and one child were in the shop, in August, at the height of the holiday season is probably quite telling. You really do need to get your customer service right!

I shan’t return. And, oh by the way, I am local. Don’t assume people are tourists just because they are carrying a backpack.

When driving by, I noticed the *fresh bread* on the shop sign. So I parked the car to test it and I was not disappointed. A lovely shop with good coffee, great bread and everything else you might need. I will definitely will go back for more of the cheese and onion bread.

Very helpful staff, and some good and diverse products for a single shop in Britain's smallest town.

We love this place. Apart from a really well-stocked shop full of good breads, unusual cheeses, packaged goods and fresh veg (not to mention out of the ordinary mags and newspapers like the NY Times, Nat Geographic Food and Decanter) you can buy a tea or coffee and a hot sausage roll/cheese and onion pasty and sit in the very pleasant, South-facing courtyard garden. It's a really good place to stop if you're out on a country walk - or if you just happen to find yourself in Winchelsea. It's only open from 0800-1400 though, so you'll need to factor that in.
