I've been living in CB1 since 1 year now and my personal experience has been wonderful throughout. With amazing facilities, beautiful environment, peace and hostile workers ready to help 24*7. I would suggest everyone looking for an accommodation that feels like home should give these apartments a try.

I lived here and the experience was amazing! The rooms are well presented and a good size and very affordable. The staff are lovely, Kelly, Jules and Wendy are so helpful and kind. I always felt safe. I really enjoyed my time in CB1 and was so sad to be going, it felt like home! Would highly recommend for any student studying locally.

Lived here for all 3 years of my degree and absolutely loved it! Amazing flats, rooms a great size (I even fit more clothes storage in my room) and lovely kitchen spaces. Staff are so friendly and will do anything to help students out, they’re there if you just want someone to talk to too. Whenever I reported maintenance problems, they were sorted within 48 hours. Would definitely recommend.

I don't even know where I should start. I must say that the price is fair and good. However, when I first arrived, there was only one staff who did not give me any details of the exact location of my room. Addition to this, the staff did not tell me where the laundry room and the common room is. When I contacted to ask about my location, this person got annoyed and clicked his tongue while on the phone (which is very rude, indecent and impolite). The other staffs were really nice though. When I entered the room, it was very dirty. I had to clean everywhere including the curtains. There is a small space under the kitchen lockers and there was ramen packets, tissue packets and chewing gum packets. I could not sleep at all as there was always noise around the area and outside the accommodation too. The entire accommodation is very dirty as there is always insects and bugs. It is extremely unsafe as well. One day, I entered after going out for a while and saw a random man sleeping in front of the elevator. The curtains were broken as well. I went home one month for a holiday and when I was back, I saw some of my foods were missing, my gloves in the bathroom were torn and the cutting board is broken as well (which is extremely weird). There is specific time for you to get your parcel, which is very inconvenient as a student. I was very busy with my assignments that I had to go to the reception after one week of the parcel arrival. When I asked them, they asked me for the date of when it arrived and when I told them it was one week before, the receptionist asked me "what were you doing all this time without collecting the parcel". As a student, I have lot of work to do. To know if the parcel is arrived or not, I contacted them for which their response was, "you need to come to the reception to see if the parcel is arrived". I wish they really consider all these reveiws from the students.

DO NOT GO TO CB1! Don’t even know where to start, I’ve never known a business to be so childish! Within my first month I received an email stating that as a punishment to every single resident for creating too much rubbish for the bins, they put a ban on delivery’s for a long period of time which is ridiculous! How about they just collect the bins more often??? Aswell as this, when I first arrived to my room it was a mess! The previous resident had left rubbish on the floor and the drawers were full of there things and to make it even worse…. When I sat on my bed to take it all in….. the bed collapsed…..

actually horrible. maintenance take forever to actually fix things and you have to repeatedly ask for them to take you seriously. when the maintenance do arrive they do not knock they just walk in (makes me now feel uneasy as a random man can walk in whenever they like). They even stopped letting us get parcels delivered to us at one point for like two weeks. The studio doesn’t have a proper extractor fan so the food stinks everything out. random fire alarms go off all the time because of the restaurant downstairs which also turns our water supply off. Cold showers. Staff are rude and unhelpful. When one person damages something and they don’t find out who did it, everyone gets charged. I could go on forever. University is supposed to be an adult experience but they treat everyone like children. it’s honestly not worth £150-£170 a week. just commute.

I've been living here for about 3 months or so. Mild gamble depending on your previous tenant if you're taking over a room, my place wasnt too bad. I've heard a horror story or two but those seem few and far between, and pretty typical for uni.

I know there's shared kitchens and such but I live on my own so I don't really know that dynamic. I got 2 hobs with a microwave, and i brought an air frier with me, and that hasn't been an issue with cooking at all.

The rooms themselves are pretty nice overall for the price, the best part living here is not having to stress about bills and whatnot, theres a generous amount of space, beds are alright from what I have, nothings really broken.

It's a bit jarring moving in, it definitely took me a solid month or so to really find my footing living on my own but once you have some semblance of a routine, its pretty nice. Its just the little things like figuring out where the washing is (its in the basement) , what to do if somethings broken (you put a complaint through the portal).

Room inspections sometimes feel a bit scary, but thats more of a personal thing really, the staff seem pretty understanding and reasonable for the most part. If somethings wrong, they tell you how you can fix it, or what to do, it doesn't really feel super intimidating.

Sometimes those things can throw you off your footing and its a bit scary at times, but overall, its pretty good here, and not alot really bothers you. I just live on my own though so, I cant speak for anyone else that has roommates.

Nightlife is a bit hectic sometimes, if you're a light sleeper it might throw you off a bit, hearing people at 3am or so, but you get used to it, I haven't had much issue with it. It dies down after like the first month once people realise that they do actually need sleep to function.

ASDA's a 10 minute bike ride away which is great for doing weekly shopping, saved loads of money there. Lidl's is a bit far.

Would 100% reccomend getting a bike. Very convenient. Makes travel alot easier. less hassle. traffics always hectic in cambridge so its just the fastest 9 times outta 10.

it is quite literally next to the train station. You dont hear trains, becuase that's what the people that live at the railyard get lol, but i had to travel to kings cross once, and i dont think I had an easier long distance journey in my life. I think I did about 2 minutes worth of walking. Very convenient for when you actually need it.

I don't use the train at all really but, I want to try and explore north cambridge more, its beatiful in that area, definitely more historical the further you go. The best description for the south is that its sort of like living in london architecture wise.

the wifi here tho, absolutely godspeed insane! I've been able to download 100gb files really quickly, the speed sits at about 40mb download, 165mb upload. If you're an IT student or a person studying games, you're gonna absolutely love it.

8/10

Overall, for what you get, in comparison to everything else, its pretty good. It comes down to budget, but if you don't want to feel like you're in a jail cell or have to put up with sharing a house and dealing with bills, I'd definitely reccomend. Gyms 2 minutes away, you can get where you need to go, its pretty well set up.

Staff are understanding, rooms are nice, all is well.

Chill place.

This area is fine during the day but dreadful at night. I have lived here 6 months I am constantly being woken up by students and other members of the public shouting/screaming fighting, returning home in the early hours. (Host building) there are cars constantly leaving engines on at night parked up and playing music. People are smoking weed in the park area at night and sometimes during the day. If you have the windows open the smell comes through into your apartment. Security do assist with anti social behavior, however by this time you are already awake. I have not had a proper weeks worth of sleep since moving here. Cant wait to move out in June. I would not recommend this area to anyone thinking of living/purchasing an apartment. Especially at £650-680K per apartment. This area might be close access for the train station. But you might as well be living in the city center next to a night club (when they are open)
