Situated at the furthest edge of London Underground, the line from Chalfont & Latimer is probably the prettiest and most scenic there is. It's especially lovely in Spring when the bluebells carpet the woods and would be worth visiting for that reason alone. Chesham station itself is located a two minute walk from the town centre, with a good selection of shops, cafes and pubs. Taxis and buses are there too. The old town near the church is worth visiting, and is under ten minutes by foot. The station is small with only one platform, and a half hourly Metropolitan line service to central London. There are male and female facilities available and the station and trains are step free. Chesham station retains much of its historical structure including the water tank and signal box and is well cared for. In many ways it remains unchanged from decades ago, which gives it a lovely calming ambience.

Great station for getting to London, the car park is £2 all day at the weekend and I was at Kings Cross in an hour. With a Railcard a zone 1 - 9 travelcard was less than a tenner! Half hourly trains which go directly to Aldgate in the City via the northern part of the Circle line.

Chesham is a pleasant small market town, with a number of independent shops. Unlike other towns there are not too many closed shops, although several banks have recently closed.
There is a good market on Wednesday and Saturday, although the number on stalls has declined recently.

The furthest you can go on London's Underground system, even though most of the trip from London is on the surface!
It feels like a country station, and serves both the ancient town of Chesham and a wide expanse of nearby countryside perfect for walkers and cyclists.

Trains cancelled regularly, staff at Chesham helpful but when trying to get from London. The lady at Harrow didn’t have a clue how to get here when all cancelled!
Cancellations are regular and also they run when they want to!
