The Co-operative Food Danbury

A convenient store in the middle of Danbury. Some items are a little pricey and the queues at the till are often long and there is a bit of a wait.

Handy for quick visits if you're driving through the area and need something.

Manny was very warm and welcoming towards me, unfortunately they did not stock the type of chub i wished for, i will visit every day on my way home to open packs my sweet young prince.

A decent choice of most things. usually adequate parking, although it can be a bit like playing dodgems getting in and out, but with no CCTV to spot when white man van collecting a sandwich, backs into you. Helpful staff, big choice of bread, reasonable choice of vegetables and fruit, plus just about everything else you'd want in a general stores. which is pretty handy, given the lack of any alternative in the vicinity, other than Tesco Express which was thoughtful enough to shut for six months earlier in the year.

WOW I cannot believe what you have done to this shop! What an unwelcoming experience! Firstly you have banks of high chillers and freezers so a cold 'welcome' ,then,once you have managed to find (possibly) what you came in for, you are herded to the tills among the banks of confectionery. This is every parents nightmare as you are going to be there for some time as service is very slow as always.Come on Co-op haven't you realised that supermarkets need to be welcoming? We do not use shops that make us feel uncomfortable or that we cannot escape from the queue if we may have forgotten something! For the second time I have been given the wrong colour cigarettes I plainly asked for green, then when the supervisor was called she commented that they are not supposed to change them without a receipt good luck with that everyone, I can't remember the last time I was given a receipt when buying just cigarettes! This is not good.

Nice Co-op. Pretty big with a good range and Co-op Bakery rolls rather than those nasty Peacocks Bakery things that some have switched to. Friendly staff, but the till nearest the door keeps freezing.

This is now my favourite Chelmsford Star Co-op food store to shop at. Always a pleasure, lots of space in the aisles to move about too. I love the local food ranges and the frozen fish selection is fab! If you want something different or as a treat, they have some great items to choose from. Staff are always on hand if you can't find an item, and are generally really lovely people in the store which puts a smile on my face. Thanks Danbury Co-op, keep up the good work and in return I will keep shopping with you!

Amazing vegan stock in this coop! Especially their new vegan ice cream Northern Bloc. Its the best vegan ice cream I've ever had and is zero waste too!

Not open for no reason - travelled ages to get my parcel. Saw a guy in there and he didn’t want to help me, terrible service.
