Lidl Chelmsford

Today was especially busy, but the staff were calm, polite and friendly. I love the broad selection of products available, from vine tomatoes to table top saws. Quality of chocolate and baking items are absolutely top notch. I love the place

Quite a small older Lidl. It didn’t have everything I was looking for and the bakery was practically empty just after lunch.
Pretty similar to many others in terms of service though, some queues at the tills but they moved. There are no self service check outs here.

Staff make students wait outside and let other customers in, for whatever reason. Not fair on those students who have a certain break time and are made to wait outside during that entire time. Utter joke mate

I do my weekly shop here. I like it, but I can't get everything my family eats here. Their prices are excellent and quality of most products are better than some competitors. For some reason they have stopped selling all their usual cereals. Staff are much better and friendlier than they used to be 😃

It's a store I don't frequently because it's not my default supermarket.

However, when I do shop there, I get very excited because I'm always pleasantly surprised with the wide range of items they stock.

I particularly enjoy their aisles with one-offs and fresh nuts stored in the big bins.

I find the ambience to be very relaxing too.

It's always a very enjoyable experience and their prices are very affordable too.

It's a supermarket I'll continue to enjoy visiting to change things up a bit whenever I get bored with my default supermarket.

Managed to buy one important food item. The turkey crown for Christmas Day.

Chelmsford branch is still good value store with helpful & friendly staff.

Always worth checking their middle section for non food items.

Plenty of parking spaces.

Don’t come here unless you’re happy to wait in a queue for half an hour. Queues here are always backing up across half the shop - this Lidl is chronically understaffed. Could easily be resolved by hiring more staff, having self service tills or - at the very least - having a separate till for baskets (like any half-decent supermarket). Nightmare!
