Sainsbury's

Sainsbury's in Kendal is great. Clean, light, bright, nice wide aisles and the staff are very friendly. A great experience all round.

We shop at Sainsbury's in Cornwall, so knew what to expect in Kendall,and it was great, home from home. The shop layout,we could find all we wanted, and the staff were helpful for a few things we couldn't find,

Rude old lady on self service checkout. Apparently the fact that I'm middle aged, dressed in a tracksuit and have one day off from my full time job to do shopping (and just happen to accidentally pick up a leaking bottle of milk) justifies being talked to like something off the bottom of your shoe. Won't return even for diesel.
Message for the old lady. It's people like myself working long twelve hour shifts that pay for all the benefits that you receive, whilst you get to work a few hours a week for pocket change at Sainsbury's. Your triple locked pension, warm home discount, pension credit and all the other goodies that government throw your way comes out of my pocket(and everyone else who works). A bit of decorum and common decency wouldn't go amiss. Well done for costing your employer £25 and for permanently losing the custom of both myself and my immediate family.

No more Cafe and fresh produce not available all the time. Also overheard staff talking about how they're being treated, not 100% sure what is going on behind the scenes but doesn't sound great.

Needed the shet so called in here, one of the largest sainsburys I can remember. Meal deals have become a bit expensive but a good range of products.

Better late than never! Back in August 2022, I was visiting a friend I haven’t seen in 2 years due to relationships and other circumstances. I had previously left a relationship and also my job which was really hard. Seeing my friend who moved to Kendal for her own well being and being able to escape my own reality was supposed to be a good thing. Bare in mind I’m from Bath. My “friend” ended up kicking me out and I had nowhere to go with all of my belongings. I was 18 at the time (now 19) and this was the first time travelling so far up north on my own. Mixing that with my newly discovered ADHD was really difficult for me. Knowing the fact that Sainsburys was just round the corner, I sat inside and explained the situation to a member of staff. I do have family that live up here but they were off outside the country. All the staff were absolutely incredible! My dad was driving from Bath and took 4 hours to get there. The staff at this Sainsburys took such incredible care of me and kept me safe until my dad arrived. They even let stay after closing (it was only for a couple minutes) just to make sure I got in the car safely. I can’t thank this staff enough and will be forever grateful to have them make sure I was safe after a quite frankly, traumatic event. They could let me stay outside but instead made sure I was safe inside so they could be there incase I felt unsafe for whatever reason. Thank you so much guys! I honestly can’t thank you enough and the kindness you gave me, I hope to give to someone else in that situation. My parents are really greatful too!

Had to argue to get a change from a £5 note to use in a trolley. Apparently you have to bring £1 with you as they are not allowed to give change for trolley. Rarely have change do Morrison or aldie (happy to change notes) from now on. Terrible customer relations.

Loved the shop. Got a few Christmas bargains. But some of the staff should listen to customers as to what they are saying and not quick just to get rid of them when they have a question. But still a great shop.
