It's a convenient store located in a convenient place. I do tend to go to M&S next door more often but that's more down to habit I guess. The two are very similar so no reason not to use the Waitrose instead. The store is laid out clearly with enough access for wheelchairs to any aisle. The produce is of good quality and their ready meals are very good.

This is a great little shop for all your needs. Although it does not have everything it does have the necessary products that you get through a lot, as well they have an excellent range of ready meals and a bakery counter for various breads and pastries. If you are looking to buy alcohol then you have a great selection of various wines, beers and spirits. They also sell tobacco products if you require them. If you live near by they also have a John Lewis click and collect system which is very handy. Overall it's a great little shop and the employees are very friendly and ready to help

On the 6/4/2018 at around 1550 in the afternoon I had come to pay for my shopping in store and this is the same store that has in the past with proof of ID allowed me to buy booze with no questions asked it had done so before this incident with no issue.

A shall we say not very bright woman on the till served me I had three small cans of Gin and Tonic and she looked at me asked my age I told her I was born on the 17.07.80 as normal she then told me I looked under 25! I am 37 going on 38 this year! I was astounded so much so I turned to her and said okay carry on want to speak to your manager now.

Manager or I assume it was the duty manager came up to me and begins to do the whole reading a script routine about underage drinking and challenge 25 blah blah. I stopped him and challenged him directly over his comments because for one I am 12 years older than that rule! And two why had he sided with this woman when I had bought booze in the place in the past with no issues and even had another manager assent the last time I was in there! He kept towing the line about company responsibility and so on I just stood and ignored most of it and then said to him sarcastically "Well at least when I go to the Tesco at the bottom of he hill they won't ID me in there because guess what you idiot they know I am genuine"

He was smarting from the comment not able to say anything back to me and looked completely at a loss as to what to say on leaving the store I made one final strongly worded comment at him and the little gormless woman behind the till "Why don't you actually challenge the people who really are under 18 or 25 not people like me who are pushing 40 odd about how old they are this store and it's ill trained staff is a disgrace"

I left at that point and they looked both sheepish and behind them where some very much uncomfortable looking customers.

The staff in the store need to understand some people do not look their age and woe betide them if they had been stupid enough to get the police involved when dealing with me I also noticed that the manage had made two male staff come closer to the tills I had no idea if they intended to eject me physically from the store but I had decided to leave.

I will continue to shop at the store but I will not get any booze there and I will make a pointed remark every time I am served to whoever serves you still being hypocritical with your challenge 25 rule? Well are you? I do not care how they feel about it because I was incensed by my treatment.

My view of this store is not good due to them having a lax view on the policy you either enforce it one way with a person or you let them get what they need no questions asked!

A handy local store. Update; I buy less and less from Waitrose, they've rather lost their way, prices up, quality down and it's been ages since they've sent me a relevant "personaly targeted" offer.

Amersham - waitrose definitely has incredible staff who are not only kind always exceeds customer expectation . Today I visted waitrose Amersham - my daugter wanted the mochi icecream - apparently couldn't find the stock, hence asked Ivan waitrose staff , he seemed to follow the protcols very well , first check for product availability on the system found no results to ensure that he is doing the right thing for the customer he went to storage freezer and checked and found it available and gave me all the flavours required for my daugters' big birthday . He just made my daughter so happy on her very special day . Ivan and Waitrose Manager , said they want to gift the mochi " as its my daughter birthday". Appreciate the thoughtfulness and service . Thanks Ivan :-)
