Tesco Express

Popped in tonight just to get some bits as I'm a contractor working up the A11 and staying in shelford during the week, mybe it's me but I thought the staff at Tesco,s were there to sell Tesco,s products not be talking on the phone and ignoring the shoppers. Must be a diffe rent store to what I'm used to, know l will hear nothing back, just gonna name and shame. Knew wouldn't hear anything back, same again tonight, felt like I was an inconvenience, gonna email Tesco head office fell really strongly about this , most of the other shoppers looked like they were just used to the crap service, if you get it everyday may it becomes the norm, it shouldn't be that way.

Popped in tonight just to get a few items. The three members of staff were rude and chatting to each other at the till. When I went to pay there was no option of being served as they had apparently cashed up at 10 therefore self service was the only option. The first item I scanned wasn't correct so I actually didn't bother purchasing any of the items and went down the road to coop, where I am pleased to say I had excellent service. Tesco you really need to put some effort into selecting customer facing staff who don't send your customers to the competition.

I had to pop in today for a few items, my past two experiences ive found staff really grouchy and rude and today was no different, the way they snap at you and talk is disgusting. There is one lady in there who you cannot fault. She always smiles and is polite the rest just make this an awful place to shop. 2 women in particular could really do with a customer services course!!

I have one major problem with this shop which is the cleanliness of the fridges/chillers. Some weeks ago, the horrible smell from sour milk was noticeable as soon as I entered the shop , the shelves and glass doors where the milk is kept were disgusting ,if you look down at the bottom of the doors where the metal grills are u will see old yogurt pot lids and black mould. I mentioned this to four different staff members over several weeks and nothing was done, they said that they were waiting for a cleaner. However, I went in yesterday and it did smell ok and the shelves were cleaner, but no one has cleaned the mould or moved all the old yogurt tops out from the metal grills.... I have a photo but can't post on here.

Reckon the store could do with a makeover but its better than nothing. Noticed a few reviews on smell but nothing smells now...
The fridge doors dont self close so they get left open which cant be good for chilled items.
Theres an issue with the freezers and theres frightful build up of ice particles around some of the frozen goods. Probly means the doors aren't sealing properly °~°

Aside from that its a useful local shop and theres plenty of parking nearby. You can pretty much always get what you want there....almost.....

....Could do with better selection of pizzas...its either pepperoni, extra cheesy, some more pepperoni, oh and more cheesy...and possibly some veggy ones....uuugh.

I'd say at least 50% of the staff arent very professional. There doesnt seem to be the balance of maturity on the team...quite a few are very young and disinterested in you.

To wrap up on a positive...they do good offers often same offers as the mainstream Tesco stores inc alcohol which is pretty neat.

the aisles speak to me and hold all the goods necessary, they’ve added new self-checkout machines and a new poster outside, but I prefer the previous one with the giant croissant.

This branch of Tesco Express is located in the main shopping street in Great Shelford, Wollard's Lane. The store itself is well laid out, carries a good range of products, though the prices are higher than bigger Tesco stores. The staff are friendly and helpful. Parking can be a bit restricted at times, but a nice store.

Really not great bit fed up with this shop at the moment. Slippy floors staff looking at there phones annoyed you go to the counter to pat as its interrupting there texting on the phone.fridge doors don't work properly
