Staff are friendly and it's generally clean and tidy but if you go after midday the fruit and veg will be half empty. Same for other popular items like OJ, salad bags, lunch items.

Be careful in the car park as there are no directional arrows and some take full advantage of this.

Croissants from the bakery are delicious. 😋

Love the shop. However what let me down was seeing a vehicle park in the parent and child bay without a child in the car. I was let down at this because as I was getting my son out of the car I saw a family have to drive away and park in a normal bay then try and get their baby out. I strongly believe that this should be allowed as getting a child or baby out the car is made even more difficult in a normal space.

COULD BE MUCH BETTER

Several friends have told me "you must try shopping at Lidl." Well, I tried it Monday morning in Dunstable but didn't like it.

My shopping experience didn't get off to a good start as the automatic door was broken. The motion sensor was being held up with sticky tape, but having fallen down again, the doors wouldn't open until someone from the inside triggered the sensor to come out.

Some shelves were empty altogether, while the practice of putting more products at the end or halfway down an aisle where you should be able to move between aisles, has reduced the gap. There was one trolley width at a mid-aisle point with various products packed all the way round the ends. It's not Christmas yet!

I could swear, the last time I shopped at Lidl, Dunstable, there were self-checkouts but not now. Instead, only two checkouts were open, so it took a lot longer to get through, than if I had gone to Sainsbury's, for example. I didn't do a big shop. I can imagine it must be very frustrating having to take so long to get through checkout with a full trolley.

At Sainsbury's, I scan and pack as I go. Lidl doesn't have this facility either. So, until it brings itself into the 21st century, I won't be returning.

The store is organised and well-stocked. I was able to buy a box of eggs whilst other stores didn't have any in stock due to the current shortage, so that was good. They've got a rule in place that allows a maximum of 3 boxes per customer so there's enough for most shoppers. The checkouts were very slow though. It was confusing because the staff would close and reopen the same till within minutes - didn't know which one to go to!

Clean and well stocked. Easy free parking. Always something interesting in the middle!

Usual great place to shop especially when they have their Spanish range in!!
Usually the shelves are well stocked and it's a nice clean store to walk about.
Could always do with more tills open to get people out quickly and save the moaning ones!
Definitely recommend.

One of the two 'four-letter' German supermarkets in the UK, although they are the underdog, they are ahead of Aldi by having a loyalty programme in the form of a mobile app called Lidl Plus. You will find periodocally some blindingly good bargains - like the quite big £1.50 vegetable box that I got on one visit. There are some unique German specialties to keep a lookout for - like Lebkuchen spiced biscuits for the Christmas festive period. This Lidl is a refreshingly bright and open modern build. Covid-19 measures include alcohol gel and trolley sanitiser just inside the entrance just before the bakery (you'll find the entrance to the toilets there too).
I really like this store, it feels like they take pride and care working in it.

Great bakery & competitive pricing, free parking. Excessive queuing at tills though
