Be careful in the car park as there are no directional arrows and some take full advantage of this.
Croissants from the bakery are delicious. 😋
Several friends have told me "you must try shopping at Lidl." Well, I tried it Monday morning in Dunstable but didn't like it.
My shopping experience didn't get off to a good start as the automatic door was broken. The motion sensor was being held up with sticky tape, but having fallen down again, the doors wouldn't open until someone from the inside triggered the sensor to come out.
Some shelves were empty altogether, while the practice of putting more products at the end or halfway down an aisle where you should be able to move between aisles, has reduced the gap. There was one trolley width at a mid-aisle point with various products packed all the way round the ends. It's not Christmas yet!
I could swear, the last time I shopped at Lidl, Dunstable, there were self-checkouts but not now. Instead, only two checkouts were open, so it took a lot longer to get through, than if I had gone to Sainsbury's, for example. I didn't do a big shop. I can imagine it must be very frustrating having to take so long to get through checkout with a full trolley.
At Sainsbury's, I scan and pack as I go. Lidl doesn't have this facility either. So, until it brings itself into the 21st century, I won't be returning.
Usually the shelves are well stocked and it's a nice clean store to walk about.
Could always do with more tills open to get people out quickly and save the moaning ones!
Definitely recommend.
I really like this store, it feels like they take pride and care working in it.
