Thursday 8th September around 7pm. Male Asian staff member with seemingly no authority position racially abuses and insults female nigerian coworker in quite a hardcore fashion infront of a lot of customers and staff. Noone helps (noone else is black). A few surprised looks. A few people roll their eyes like they’ve heard this before. Very disgusting and intimidating behaviour. Shame.

Chocolate croissants are individually £1 so if you buy 2 in a paper bag, they cost £2. However if you buy 2 chocolate croissants in an environmentally damaging plastic box, it only cost £1.55. Why would it cost less when using more packaging that costs money to buy. This tesco pricing doesn’t make sense and damaging the environment with plastic packaging

Shelves are empty. Customer services are absolutely Rubbish as there are not many staff on the checkouts. Self serving checkouts are the worst as they are only cards payment and the normal checkouts have 1 or 2 people serving. There are long ques during peak times due to lack of staff and the self serving checkouts do not take cash payments.
One major thing is that ever Tesco express I have visited tend to very poor security reason being is that thieves tend to walk away with goods in front of the security staff. The security aren't bothered and the staff working in the stores are in Lala Land.
Stores like Sainsbury's and Asda's have a card and cash self serving checkouts unlike Tescos.

I don’t really write reviews but for this place I had to. I visit here regularly and all the staff are extremely rude and miserable here, it’s like they’ve been forced to work there, except the elderly nigerian lady who is such a sweet and kind woman. She goes out of her way to help others and is always so polite and kind, something her colleagues should take note of (I’m only giving 2 stars because of her, otherwise it would be a 0).

This store has got to be one of the worst ones I've been to. Staff are extremely rude and miserable. Such a shame, used to be a lovely atmosphere several years ago. Definitely would not be getting my custom again.

Worst supermarket I have ever been to. Shelves are often empty, it’s always super cold inside, staff is rude, there is always a queue for self check outs, and yet half of these are closed. It’s called “Express” even though it’s big, probably just to charge more for everything. It’s very expensive so better off going to the big Sainsburys down in Whitechapel, you can easily save 15-20% on your shopping, which is quite significant in this current climate. Shame this Tesco is the only one large supermarket in the Bethnal Green area. Wish it was an Aldi or Asda, or anything else to be honest.

A super cold store with a very chaotic time schedule. One cannot know what to expect, but definitely not 24 (people say it doesn’t work in the night) / 7 (weekends closes early)
