Lovely and quiet on a rainy, Tuesday night. They are doing some rearranging on the store though, so it was confusing to find the things you needed (they did have signs telling you where they'd moved to) and some items had been completely removed. The freezers are leaving puddles of water on the floors as well. Apart from that, it's great.

Popped in for a shop, decided to go for a meal in cafe. We both had a cooked breakfast, before lockdown breakfast's used to be good value here, post lockdown it's a different story. Same price, but the quality and quantity has gone downhill. Sausages were dry and tasteless, bacon, what there was of it, was not much better. Although the food was hot, I have had much better value, and quantity in local cafe's, which is surprising as Morrison must get their produce a lot cheaper. Store was good, well stocked, staff in cafe were friendly and efficient, and doing their best with what they were given.

Store has gone through its layout change having added extra self service and self scan payment points. There's still a little work to do but even during the changes its still possible to get everything we usually buy. It might take a little longer finding everything as several of the aisles have been moved around. The bakery, fish, deli and meat counters remain in the same place with the same good quality and affordable items.

Visited on Friday at 5 p.m. Despite the long queues, only 2 tills were manned and they'd run out of bags. Also, see if you can work this out...

Products gone downhill, layout confusing, prices gone up, houseplants a disgrace, but local staff still wonderful. I have shopped here for many years, but I have to say that the revamping under the new US owners Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R) has made a shop here an unpleasant experience now. I am not a laggard for change, but the number of people (usually older) asking where things are (if they can find someone) was distressing. I wanted to buy a pumpkin for Halloween, but those in the hall outside were appalling – some rotten, some with damage and a stream of orange liquid on the floor. So I thought I would buy my Mum some houseplants. I have never seen such a sorry collection of damaged plants in my life. Houseplants in Morrison’s (Baglan) used to be so well looked after. Feels like one of those huge cheap US stores, but it is not cheap! Wine prices are around 10-20% higher than Tesco. The checkouts are now nearly all electronic – three times I had to wait for assistance simply because I touched my bag in the ultra-sensitive loading area (the “unexpected item” issue when nothing had been placed in the loading area). But I still think the staff are excellent – friendly and helpful local people. And where are the profits for this Equity firm going? - not Britain. Thankfully there is a Lidl across the road where I will be shopping in future.

I have been putting off my review of Morrisons in Baglan because I know that they have been going through some renovations, to improve on the dated decor and broken fridges.

I always find the fresh meat great quality but since major refurbishments a few products have disappeared and not returned, or they have returned but not being stocked often enough.

Prices have gone up in the store, but I sense that is the problem everywhere right now ...

What really annoys me is when you do a late night shop, the staff seem so lazy and no one is ever on the checkouts, and have to do self serve. We did a full shop which was around £200, spent about 2 hours in the shop and was forced to pile everything on the self checkout scales. Not acceptable really?

I do like the new layout though and do find morrisons still cheaper, providing better quality products than most other supermarkets.

Well I really feel that their café is going down hill fast. Since Covid we have been to 3 different Morrisons to do our shopping. They highlight their great food but at least 4 occasions we have tried to have food before we shop only to be told "they are only serving drinks due to being short staffed on 2 occasions, the kitchen was down on one occasion and today was told they'd run out of Christmas dinners so I resorted to fish and chip but was told the fryers were down. I asked just for just one of the Christmas starters of prawn cocktail which does not require frying but was told that they didn't have that either" This is over 3 shops so it not just one faulty kitchen. We are going elsewhere in future.

This review is specifically about the 'Click and Collect' service. An absolute shambolic first experience. Online bit (done by my wife) went OK. On the day of collection we clicked on the bit that said "I am here" and entered our car reg. Waited and waited. I walked to the info desk on the other side of the store and explained I was waiting. Went back to click and collect and waited and waited. No sign of anyone, no one to ask or even a door to go through so I walked back around and explained that I was still waiting. Walked back around to click and collect and was met by two girls who said that they'd been waiting there for my wife and had no knowledge of the car reg. Not a great experience to be honest.
