It was good to get a Marks and Spencer in Merthyr. Sadly the clothes no longer have any appeal to me. However the underwear carries on as ever! The food Hall is good and can even offer reduced bargains and good offers. The staff are always pleasant and it was definitely a good addition to the shopping choice in this area.

Disappointed with service, ordered breakfast and hot drink. Staff were unfriendly and unwelcoming. We asked to have our drinks after breakfast declined straight away. Then asked to have extra hot which young grumpy lady didn't do that either. Our breakfast was supposed to be sourdough but white toast came. Breakfast look warm and presentation was lacking. In general was not impressed with the service at all.

We stopped at the M&S cafe this afternoon to have a late light lunch only to be told they are only serving toasties and bacon and sausage rolls! The reason for this was that they are short staffed when there was 3 members of staff behind the count two of which where just standing around while the other lady was frantically trying to serve people in the queue make coffees etc. The restaurant was a disgrace with many tables not been cleaned, floors had food on them and no one had cleared the tables of trays, food and cups. (See pictures below) an absolute JOKE.

Most of the staff were lovely & very friendly, especially Lisa who served us on the till. It was very busy but you could see she was keeping calm and collected. However, I was a bit let down by the attitude of one of the staff members (Nicola I think) where she was trying to complain to Lisa that she was still taking orders that contained avocado when she had previously told her they had run out, Lisa still continued to serve the customer in front of her as there was a large queue forming. Because Lisa ignored her temporarily she made quite a loud comment which I did think was very rude, saying “shes not even listening anyway” in front of the customers. There was also no gluten free hot savoury food options available that day which was disappointing as I have coeliac disease. Other than that, the service was good & our drinks and food were of good standard & come out of the kitchen very quickly :)

Finally plucked up the courage to have a bra fitting and saw the lovely Gaynor (Merthyr Tydfil branch). She made me feel comfortable and was so lovely. Thank you for making my first experience great, I'm now able to shop for the right size bra, only taken me 25years!

You cant not like M&S and this 1 is no different. Well presented, clean, good quality clothes and other items as well friendly staff. Cafè is small and a busy one, but does serve light bites and good coffee.. Who knows when you spend a afternoon or day shopping you need a coffee. This isnt just any store this is a M&S store.👍🏻

Had hot chocolate and a coffee with toast which came to nearly £12 and shocked to see the toast was only twice the size of the butters provided. I will not be visiting m&s cafe again. Rip off!
