Absolutely gobsmacked at the unnecessarily rude 'service' at this shop today. The woman serving basically shouted at us for using Collect Plus and told us never to use it again.

Apparently, the parcels delivered for us were too big, too heavy and had completely inconvenienced her and ruined her life. They were not too big, or too heavy, but neither had she stored them securely. They were just on the shop floor where she pointed for us to pick them up ourselves and bring them over to her at the counter.

She then seemed to think how we should magically know which barcode in the email went with which box. Um, I don't know. I didn't pack them. Why don't you use that scanner you're holding to find out?

After collecting and lifting the boxes ourselves, (they were really not very big or heavy and had handles to make lifting easy) we stepped aside to wait for regular corner shop customers to buy their newspapers, and whatever else.

During this time, she continued blustering about how much we had inconvenienced her and how she had done us a flavour taking them, we'd picked the worst possible time to collect, and we'd better not do this again. I was happy to let others go ahead and, in fact, was the one inviting them to so. I am a generally polite and considerate person. Your customers thanked me for letting them go ahead of me. It's a shame you didn't display the same basic courtesy as your customers did, but rather embarrassed them and yourself by making a scene over nothing.

To add insult to injury, I had paid extra to use Collect Plus when delivery would have been free, because I thought it would be more convenient. How wrong I was. If you can't - or don't want to - honour the Collect Plus service, you should not offer it. There is no point having a go at the customers who have unwittingly paid for this 'service'.

I still can't believe it. I feel like I have had an unpleasant out of body experience and was charged for the privilege.

Wish I'd read the reviews about the collection point here first. Seems we're not the first to encounter problems.

been her twice now to drop off a Yodel parcel, first on weekend & the lady said they don’t accept on weekends. So I went back on Monday & she waited for 5 mins saw I had parcels & then said ‘oh the machine is broken today’. Seems like she picks & chooses & can’t be bothered to do it. She’s also very rude & doesn’t smile or say hello. The man who works in here however is lovely, it’s a shame. She will put people off coming into the store.

Web site shows business accepts parcel over the counter said we don't accept on weekend. Have to go back to other shop to send parcel. Your shop should show that you don't accept parcel on weekend so people don't come to you on weekend!!!

Poor service.
I live local and was dropping off my yodel parcels to this store. It is a drop off point for this company. Went yesterday to be told there was no room and couldn't accept them (even though they were only small) come back tomorrow.
Went back today and the shop keeper was so rude and had so much attitude. I asked if the parcels had the right labels on? (I had 3) As things can get mixed up. She rudely replied well if you don't trust the shop keeper don't come here! I was lost for words and walked out of the shop without saying a word. I won't be entering this shop again. To buy anything or drop off/collect parcels. Never experienced such bad customer service! Totally agree with other reviews on here the man in there is lovely.

Sorry to say , but yodel drop off today ( Thursday ) was a horrid experience. One small parcel. The shop was quiet. Parcel was scanned without even speaking or looking at me. When the receipt was printed out it was literally thrown at me! I was pretty shocked. But was about to walk away and turned around , and said some good manners would be nice! Good manners,! She huffed and went back to her tablet. It's such a shame! Has she got anger issues...should she be working here? It really isn't good for the shop. I might get in touch with Yodel, as it's not good for them either sorry to have to do this. I would I know everyone has bad days but it was beyond.

The woman cashier creates a dark cloud of doom in this shop. She will not take parcels even though it’s the only yodel drop off in the area. Such a mean old lady, no idea what her problem is but she loves a good scowl and staring daggers at her loyal customers. No idea why she even has customers, surely they’ve lost them all with that spiky attitude?

Such a variable experience here. If the man is behind the counter, he's lovely and nothing is too much trouble. If it's the woman, she's very moody and I regularly end up being double-charged by her. There's no provision for people buying more than a few items so you need to pile them up on the counter which are then put through, then someone else gets served, then yours get put through again. Get some baskets please. Not that I'll be going back unless it's an absolute emergency, despite being only 4 minutes walk away.

Cam and the family are so helpful and friendly. Fab family-run corner shop with a great selection of goods, making it the perfect place to pick up those bits and bobs you need while removing the inconvenience of having to travel to one of the large supermarkets instead.
They're also fab in allowing my grandmother to pay once a month for a regular delivery of 3 newspapers per week, saving her going back and forth, and offering excellent convenience, seemingly on a personalised customer by customer basis.
