GODO - sostanza italiana

Used to be good, but ordered just now on Deliveroo from the Essex Road branch and I received, and I kid you not, FROZEN pasta…!!!

Is this some kind of sick joke? Is there a disgruntled employee protesting his working conditions or his salary?! Or does Godo prepare frozen pasta that is reheated for customers and someone messed up to reveal the secret house recipe??! In all cases, an absolute DISGRACE that cannot go unaddressed. Avoid.

Hot,delicious and yummy. We really enjoyed it,took meal for two with a friend. Thanks to Gifty for being so nice and helpful. Definitely coming back.

Bit of a let down with the takeaway. Sizes are small for the price. Lasagna was well cooked and tasty but the cannellonis looked and tasted like they had been done the day before and reheated. The ricotta and spinach filling looked like a sponge. Not tasty at all

I order from Deliveroo, the portions are just too small. Tiramisu is a jar of cream. Lasagna also came in a jar which is impossible to open. We tried forks, spoons, knife, wine openers and none worked. To a point that we broke our knife. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to order from this place, now I have to reorder my lunch because I couldn’t get it open.

Quality of the pasta is impossible to beat on Deliveroo...but the Godo business model is simply to serve half a meal for the same price. If only the owners weren't as greedy and filled their jars to the top, their business would flourish!

Love the fact that the food is served in reusable jars! I am definitely reusing the jars to bring packed lunch at work. The food itself was delicious, I had pasta with nduja salami and gorgonzola cheese and loved it. Will be returning for sure.
Just read the other reviews and I must say that one jar of pasta is plenty of food and it wasn't too hard to open it either. There are instructions on the bag, but I opened it with a butter knife without issues.

Not for the hungry, small portions, very basic recipe.

Got half a pot of overcooked gnocchi (priced at over £10) and tiramisu which was just a pot of cream. No flare, and not a filling dinner - probably less than you’d expect for a kids portion. Not even a drizzle of olive oil or Parmesan to make it look at least appetising.

Probably the best Italian takeaway I’ve ever had in London. I had to pause before I wrote that! But it’s true.
Not only are they reasonably priced, and fairly centrally located, the food itself is absolutely exquisite. Delivered with care, at the perfect temperature, sealed in bespoke recycled and recyclable jars, and wow full of wonderful flavours.
This here is the future at takeaway dining! They need an award !
I have already been recommending to everyone!
