Main Street Chip Shop

Just had fish and chips from here. Lovely crispy batter on the fish and a good size too! Plenty of chips and not at all greasy. Well cooked, quick service and good value for money. Will be back!

Three staff - one manager who has no patience or time to support his staff, one lad (Ewan) who seems to get the blame for everything but is doing his best and girl who seems neither use nor orniment! It took 30 minutes from ordering my food to receiving it and it was still wrong. The food we had was OK, nothing to rave about but not worth the money and definitely not worth the time.
Such a shame as it's perfect little chip shop in a lovely location but with a lack of competence from the staff.

Hi, my granddaughter and hey boyfriend visited your shop yesterday evening, they waited over an hour while I was in the car, myself I had fish and chips, I am sorry I didn’t take a photo of what I had, well the fish bland there was no taste at all to it, the batter, well I couldn’t really couldn’t call it batter, the chips looked not really cooked, I am sorry it wasn’t up the standard.

Visited twice, both times the chips were the worst I’ve ever had. Almost raw, and amazingly greasy. I gave them a second chance as I couldn’t believe the first time was not a freak accident. Portions were also small, but in this case that’s probably a blessing.

Really greasy, undercooked chips and extremely small portions for the price.
Takes a minium of 20mins from ordering to receiving food even then the chips are cold. Won't be eating from here again.

The best fish and chips for miles! Fresh fish cooked to order - it’s worth the wait - and beef dripping chips. Fabulous!

better than last time i went in, still small portions for the price. not horrendous quality but not great,

Worst take away I've ever had. Two mouthfuls of greasy , overdone, cold food was enough to put it straight in the bin. Avoid.
