Speedwell Taxis

I am very dissatisfied with the services offered by this company. It is not the first time that the waiting time does not correspond to the time given by the staff.
In January a colleague waited for a taxi from this company for more than 3 hours and every time she called they told her that they were busy and that the car was coming in over 20 minutes. The only reason I called this company was because I lost the phone number of a very serious taxi company in this area.

Today I call the taxi and the staff said 15-20 minutes, after 30 minutes when I call back he said: oh, another 10-15 minutes, it's trafic. I told him it was an urgent problem and I have to be on time. The taxi arrived only after an hour and the driver said he received the order 5 minutes before arriving in front of the supermarket.

I think the staff at this company are irresponsible and do not do their job professionally. Maybe someone has to be an appointment, maybe someone needs to be on time at the train station, maybe someone needs to get to the hospital. It is unacceptable to play with the client's time. Even if there are traffic problems (this was not the case today - there was no traffic at all) you call the customer and inform him by giving him the opportunity to call another company.
Lack of respect, professionalism, punctuality, no skills as customer service. I seen they are on this field from more then 10 years. So, not all is old is gold! I do not recommend it!

I always have a good experience with Speedwell Taxis. I would like to particularly thank a helpful operator who tried to help me out and gave me lists of phone numbers of local taxi companies when their cabs are all out at 4am in the morning for an emergency purpose. I cannot thank enough for such a humane kindness.

We were visiting out of town for a friends wedding. I pre booked two cars for an outward and a return journey. On the phone we were quoted a price. The day before our taxi was required, I was sent a text msg with another price, slightly higher but that’s fine. I called to confirm our booking as the wedding was out in the sticks and I wanted to make sure we were picked up. The outward journey was fine, two cars arrived, however we were asked to pay with cash which I was not advised of, on any of the calls I had. Luckily the office sent a link that allowed us to pay by card. It came to our return journey… this is where it went Pete tong. 12:30am arrived and no cars. I called them at 12:35 and was told that there was only one car on my booking and that there were other bookings before us. I advised there should have been two cars and that I had called to confirm this, to save this from happening!! The man called me back to advise the car never showed up because it was cancelled. We were never advised of this!! We then get told a car will be coming but in half an hour… whilst waiting for that I get another call saying the car price is even more and that we were quoted wrong… again - numerous opportunities for them to advise of this!! 50 mins after our taxi was due a car arrived. Whilst in it, we had to ask the driver to call the office to make sure another was on its way for the others. Low and behold it wasn’t!!!! So the driver we had kindly said he would go back for them. I would never book with these people again! Bearing in mind this was a Thursday night and not a weekend!

Have been let down multiple times by this company, not honouring existing bookings, particularly at busy times. Far more reliable services available in Godalming. Some of the positive google reviews here are pretty suspect, same person rating clocktower as excellent in multiple locations in the south west.

Phoned up for a taxi from Godalming to Portsmouth. I was told £8.70. I said I want to go to Portsmouth in hands. The guy said "oh I thought you said Portsmouth road" He then said it would cost me £150. I laughed and said no thanks. Won't be using Clocktower Taxis again!!

Absolutely terrible experience with speedwell taxis this weekend. DO NOT USE if you can avoid them.

They were late for a collection, and we only found out about the delay when we called to see where our pre-booked taxi was. After more waiting eventually we had to find another way there and almost missed my brothers wedding. When I called to cancel there wasn’t even an apology.

At pick up time again they were late and again we weren’t informed until we called them to chase it up. We were told they were busy with ‘pre-booked jobs’ - our booking was pre booked! We had to wait 45 minutes in the cold before we were eventually collected (again no apology) to be told taxis ‘don’t like coming out’ to this wedding venue. If this is the case just don’t take the booking rather than doing a bad job?!

Several other wedding guests had the same bad experience and were stood waiting for up to an hour and a half to be collected having pre booked cabs.

Late twice and terrible customer service. Avoid at all costs.

DO NOT USE!! Absolutely shocking service, we had pre-booked a taxi days in advance for an important event and after waiting 15mins for the taxi to arrive I was then told that they were really busy and he wouldn’t be there for another 35mins!!! Never have I had a taxi company do this and it completely ruined our evening. I will never use this service and will also say the same to all our friends and family.

Disgraceful service from this company that now operates as Clocktower Cars. They failed to turn up on time 3 times which meant I missed many trains. Rude driver insisting I pay upfront and even stopping the vehicle to persuade me. Avoid this company, seriously.
