A hidden gem in the heart of Purbeck. Great food and cakes. Generous portions. The farm and views are great. A super place to stop off.

A lovely tea shop offering a very wide choice of drink, both hot and cold, and an amazing range of cakes, breakfasts and lunch items
Very friendly and helpful staff members
The seating areas are wonderful both indoors and out (just watch out for a couple of wasps)
A nice animal viewing area that the kids loved and kept them entertained
The only very minor issues with the site were that the entrance from the car park was steep and straight onto the road and a few garden umbrellas would have been nice to give shade for the tables
I would definitely recommend this place and will visit again the next time I'm passing

This seems like a hidden gem, came across it quite by accident! There is a campsite here too though, so obviously quite a few visitors know about it. Excellent cake and ice cream, nice coffee in the beautiful surroundings of a family farm. Lots of animals to look at, particularly enjoyed the very free range chickens. A shining example of farm diversification, really well done!!

Holy mother of cake..... We found this place by chance and had to stop, we tried the hummingbird cake and I think I've found my new fav cake (top marks to whoever made it).
There's parking opposite and there's plenty of outside seating with a small pond to walk around with "free range donkeys".
Definitely coming back for more😁👍

Great setting. It's possible to see the farm animals and the free range donkeys down by the ponds. The farm chickens roam through between the tables in the tea room garden. Ducks and geese can be seen using the road side pond.
The food from the tea room is very good and made to order. I particularly like the home made Dorset apple cake, definitely the best we've sampled in Dorset.

The Cake House is my new favourite Cream-tea spot. The children can run wild and pet the animals and chase the chickens whilst the adults relax and enjoy a delicious cream-tea with beautiful views of the county side.
A clean and tidy uni-sex toilet is available and parking is just across the road with very easy access.
The prices are fair and the food is freshly prepared. The only gripe would be the paper cups; however, there were a few wasps about so the lid kept those pesky little buggers out of my tasty beverage.
I would thoroughly recommend the Cake House. Even though it is a little out of the way, it was certainly worth the drive and shall definitely be back.

I just love this place. Really good homemade food and a good selection of beverages. Beautiful surroundings, and a nice walk down to the little lakes (bit be careful on the slope) So lovely to see the animals and different breeds of chickens.

Loved it. Simple well looked after garden with great views. Food is plentiful and sensibly priced. Good for young and old and animals. Highly recommended.
