This is an excellent little tea room. Great selection of food but not an intimidating menu. Lots of choice from cooked breakfasts to afternoon tea and all situated in the converted stables of an old country house. My partner and I had an afternoon tea and we enjoyed it very much.

I do have 2 reccomendations, however. The first to the owners. This would be to swap out the current fruit salad in the afternoon tea for some 'fresh' chopped fruits with a small pot of cream. Yes, the cost would be greater but this would add polish and make the afternoon tea all the more decadent. The second is directly to potential customer. BOOK IN ADVANCE. This place is an absolute gem in the surrounding area and can get too busy to accept walk in customers at certain times. The reason is obvious...... The food, the service, the quality and location are close to perfect. Will definitely be visiting again.

Booked in advance for afternoon tea as an early Mother's day treat for our mum who's not as mobile as she once was. Parking was sufficient & access to the Teahouse was adequate. The ambience was just right and the food was amazing. I have some food intolerances and my afternoon tea was more than I expected and taste delicious. I will definitely come again.

Can't tell how food and drinks were... It's a cozy place but... Me and the family waited for a table to get cleaned among all other tables that needed that so we can order. Someone went to clean the tables that no one was waiting for and our table was still loaded (we just moved everything on another table).. We went to order and been told to wait at the table as someone will come serve us... then other people arrived after a while and they been served before us.. we got ourselves out looking for another place to get served. Another table was waiting same as us and they left too as it seems that last to come are served first😅we even missed to order for breakfast and had to be happy with a lunch instead🤷🏼‍♀️
I have years of experience as a waiter and my advice for this place: First in is first served and also if you see people waiting at a dirty table please clean that first to serve them. The other dirty tables no one is waiting for can be cleaned afterwards 😊
Have a good day🙏
P.S.: Please take this feedback as constructive ❤️

After a bit of a covid break, it's been wonderful to return to the great atmosphere of The Teahouse, where nothing is too much trouble and delicious, fresh, home cooked style food is plentyful.

Great friendly, service which is still very good value for money.

I even like a cheeky takeaway cake sometimes!

Former employee. Payed me slave labour only £4 and hour with no brake. Had to wash all the pots dry them and put them away with no support for the entire cafe. Made me do jobs not even in the description such as waiting and cleaning tables. Women my age got payed more for the same job. Not a nice working environment.

I have been to "The Teahouse" many times and the food has always been been of a very good quality. Service and the general atmosphere is friendly and there are lots of regular returning customers. It can get busy at weekends especially if there are groups having afternoon teas. My favourite meal is the mushroom and poached eggs special which is delicious. The adjacent Carr Bank park is pleasant for a stroll on a nice day.

Went here for afternoon tea. Lovely people, lovely food. Lovely teashop. Sells a variety of breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea. All at reasonable prices. Will definitely go again.

Amazing place. We had a tea party for my father in law. They were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Food was nice and plenty of refills for tea and coffee.
