An excellent, frequently changing source of second hand books. Has the feel of a real bookshop. No coffee, no gimmicks just a great selection of books.

Fantastic second hand book and music shop, plus a few hundred decent DVDs too. But, it is the books you should go for. Shop is really well organised, has fantastic, eclectic stock, from a decent range of popular page turners through to some more obscure first editions. Stock updates all the time, and have never left here empty handed.

Lovely, friendly staff, who are happy to go and rummage through all the stockpiled books they can't fit in the actual shop, should you want something specific.

But far my favourite shop, I can’t walk past it without going in. They have a great collection of books old and new. It’s a bustling shops with something for anyone who loves reading. Super helpful staff how will take orders and call you when they find what you’re looking for too. Support this amazing local charity book shop.

I've visited hundreds of Oxfam Bookshops across the country and this was by far the worst. It was insanely overpriced, the shop was overstocked and I can only assume that they aren't selling the bulk of their overpriced stock each quarter.

I've been to affluent areas like Surrey (Dorking, Reigate) who just want to get rid of their stock and replenish with new donations. They make a lot of money because of this.

The people working there seem to be clueless. Shocking.

I bought a quite expensive record in this store but when it came round to me playing it they had put the wrong one in the sleeve. I rang up and spoke to a helpful lady who told me they had it and had put it aside for me, she was really apologetic and even offered to drop it to me. However I made the 40 minute journey back to Berkhamsted to collect it, and was treated unbelievably poorly by the two male staff members. While one shouted at me saying I should have bought the mistaken record back and that he refused to look for me, the other man on the desk let him speak to me and merely told him he should maybe ‘go out the back’. A customer had to step in to stop him from continuing shouting, and I left in tears. I was in disbelief someone could loose their temper like that over a very brief conversation and especially by a member of staff in a shop. He was almost hysterical with anger and his behaviour didn’t match the small matter of them making an error with the record. As a young woman I absolutely do not tolerate this abuse or the other mans apathy. I would never set foot in this store again.
