Would rate zero if I could. Booked 10min exhaust check for 8.30 on a Sat morning, so first appointment. On arrival was told it would be ready at 10.00am. when I said I needed to be back home for child care at 9.30 I was told by the Lady behind the counter "We've only got half the staff in today so we can't do it. When you book online they don't know we're short of staff, sorry." £7 in diesel to be sent away again. Then I got an email confirming that I had cancelled the appointment. Disgusted...

In the last 2 weeks I had 4 new tyres fitted to my Range Rover , which I booked online with no problems. I waited while they were fitted which only was 1hr, just had new brake pads fitted, again booked online and was ready to collect in 2 and half hrs. Very happy with there service and a dame site cheaper than having Land Rover fit them!! 😀

Excellent service, second time in a month that I have had to have a tyre replaced. Both times I was treated with respect and courtesy.
An excellent job done as well. I will use National Tyres Folkestone again.

Daughter bought 4 tyres. All fitted and very reasonable - hence 1 star.
However daughter also booked in car for MOT a few weeks later. She was told that the car had failed and then told that the engine was about to blow up and needed fixing urgently. I collected the car for her as she was really upset. On collecting the car, it had only failed on emissions, so I queried why and how they had come to the assumption that the engine was about to blow up, especially as to test the emissions they stick an analyser up the exhaust. I was told that "it was the professional opinion of the manager and that they didn't repair engines so had no vested interest as they didn't do the work" however National Tyres is owned by Halfords and the MOT was conducted by Halfords who are located directly opposite, so they have got a vested interest in passing work on to their parent company.
Took the car away and plugged in some engine management software which pointed to a faulty sensor. £45 later and an MOT somewhere else, car passed no issues. The moral of the story is
1. Don't take your car to National Tyres as they don't actually MOT the car anyway.
2. Definitely don't take your car there if you are a young female as they will try to bullsh*t you about the car and assume you don't know anything about cars or mechanics.
Unfortunately for National Tyres I have worked around vehicles and engines for most of my working life and so they won't be able to pass onto Halfords their wrong and quite frankly disgusting opinion which to another person might of cost them hundreds if not thousands of pounds.
To be fair to Halfords they only carried out the MOT and as far as I'm aware were not party to the lies told by National Tyres.

Ordered 4 new bridgestones and booked fitting all at same time online, when I got there, they said it would take an hour and a half to fit and they were spot on, tyre fitter was very informative and helpful, there is a waiting area for you to sit but as it is so near the town centre, I went walkabout, so really good service and very competitive with their pricing.

Price paid for 2 tyre change was different from one quoted.
Took one hour and half to change tyres, even though i was booked in.
Staff left car half way through job for a cup of tea.
Hub cap missing when I finally got the car back.
Still waiting for my promised refund.
Would not recommend.

They helped us in our hour of need, which we were very appreciated, but the tyre fitter assigned to our fitting was the slowest fitter on the planet. We had just driven 9 hours across France and had to drive yet another 5 hours to get home, so this wasted time delay wasn't good for us.

Although they were friendly, it took them 2 1/2 hours to fit front wheels with new tyres that were pre-booked and paid for in a 1 hour time slot. When challenge d on time they said will only be another ten minutes, when it was 45. I was nearly late for work as a result, not even an apology. Also they left copious amounts of grease everywhere and I am now having to go back as one of the tyres doesn't hold the air pressure. I am going to avoid and stick to tyreweb in cheriton.
