Up to the usual high standards of the National Trust holiday cottages. We were a party of 6 during the late Spring holiday 2019 One can easily walk to Calke Abbey, but to drive there from the cottage takes a little longer due to the one way road system through the grounds of the Abbey. The “Way Out” of the grounds goes past the front of the cottage. There are also walks around the grounds of Calke Abbey, including one that goes around the west side of the reservoir to the Seven Trent reception centre and Cafe at the north of the of the reservoir.

It’s great, countryside location, near the historical estate and reservoir. Lots of wildlife.

Stayed here for a weekend in Jan 2022, thankfully we had dry weather so we could enjoy the area. The cottage is super, so well equipped I'm all areas and lovely and warm! There was 5 of us and 2 dogs, loads of space. Really worth a stay
