A very nice and interesting place to visit.
National Trust states that booking the visit is essential, but we are local and last July decided to take the risk and visit the house without booking as it is only 5 minutes driving from us.
As NT members, we were welcome and allowed to enter without any problems and queues.
The house is full of historical artifacts, the guides were quite helpful explaining the history of them. The pictures on the walls worth special attention, some of them are quite amazing opening the window to 18th century London at night.

Interesting to look round the gardens here, both formal and informal. No photography allowed, not a problem, but almost no plant labels so if you spot something you don't know you have to sketch or remember it to investigate further.

Small but perfectly formed garden, which I would imagine evolves with the seasons. Shame you need to book to go into the house a year in advance which we didn't:-)

Lovely gardens and a great experience to visit the house as a local resident.

Very interesting look around the few rooms that they open. Enjoyed the beautiful gardens in the brilliant, hot sunshine then sat with coffee and a cake in the shade of an old Horse Chestnut tree. A lovely short afternoon visit.

House is only open for 2 weeks of the year. Very interesting. Very knowledgeable staff. Grounds quite small. Pop up tea tent. Plenty of parking.

An amazing garden. There is so much to see in a small space. Lot's if herbaceous plants as well as a mixture of trees and shrubs. The garden is immaculately maintained and was looking at it's best.

It's only open at certain times but booking for just the garden is not required. There is a place to get light refreshments such as cake and coffee. Plenty of parking and easy to find.
