We visited last weekend, on the first open day of the year. As the weather was fine it was relatively busy, but there were enough trains running that the wait wasn't longer than about 10-15 minutes.

My 2 year old loved it - he was a little anxious at first, but once we got underway he was thrilled, and the trip was just about the right length.

I thought the price was very reasonable - tickets aren't dated, so you can buy them in pairs and use unused ones on another day, though each trip is short enough that doing routes in one trip is probably the way to go.

I should add that there were some issues on our second trip that extended it out to about 45 minutes. We weren't in a rush and if anything it was fun to see the guys scurrying to deal with mechanical challenges.

Overall a gem of a local attraction that we'll certainly come back to, if my toddler has anything to say about it.

Been going here for years since very young, it's a fun few hours for all the family thou your also never too old to enjoy it. The attention to detail on the trains and track is amazing.

Fantastic miniature railway conveniently located close to London. Very good value for money with normally short queues for the trains.
There are two lines to choose from: the Green Route is a non stop service with a loop around Green Lane and the Red Route makes a stop at Cockcrow Hill station where you can enjoy the countryside before the train departs back to Hardwick.

The kids loved this place, the trains are something awesome and a sight to behold.
One star less as the carriages are small and if you are slightly larger then it rubs like hell on your legs.
The trips are long and varied so well worth a visit.

Great afternoon trip. Took my son (3) and he had a fantastic day.

Staff were all fantastic, being very child friendly and happy to hear engage all the questions of little ones and photo asks of families.

Both routes offer a broad selection of experiences for the passengers (tunnels, bridges, stations etc)

Post rides we had a great time watching the coming and going of all the trains in and out of the station.

I love this little hidden gem. If you love trains, you’ll love the much loved miniature railway. Check for opening times. Only operates in the summer months on a Sunday afternoon
