Loved it! Spent a couple of nights here in our campervan. Lovely site, quiet, clean, lots to see and do. There was a fab pop up market, which is on every Wednesday. The crafts on sale were of a fab quality, some great craftsmanship on display.
The house has amazing woodland and riverside walks. The flower gardens are pretty special and well worth a walk around. There is a cafe in the old stables and dogs are allowed in the old harness room, where doggy treats await them.
Well worth a visit, great for families, as well as adults only. Plenty for everyone to experience. Nature at her best.
There is also a Festival of Chamber Music in July that would be well worth a visit.

You can only visit inside the house as part of a guided tour. Its £12 for adults and lasts around 90 minutes. The guide was excellent and so knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

We had a nice afternoon at Patxton House grounds. We paid £6 each and our baby was free. We walked all of the grounds which had plenty of playparks and activities for kids and we had a picnic on the field outside of the house. There were Highland cows walking around the fields and the river walk was very pleasant. We went to see the waterwheel and pump which was interesting but not in operation when we went down which was a shame. I had a flat white coffee at the stables coffee shop which was excellent. Would recommend. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the water wheel wasnt operating. Otherwise this was a great afternoon out 👍

A Georgian country house built for Patrick Home of Billie by the architects John and James Adam in 1758. Impressive architecture and surrounding landscape. Visiting within the house is by guided tour only. Excellent café with cakes, light meals and hot beverages. If you have time enjoy the garden walk along the banks of the River Tweed to the Union 'chain' Bridge. An early example of a suspension bridge design.

On this particular visit, I was here for a wedding, however, there is also a wonderful, inexpensive café with great tasting food and drinks for those who visit for the grounds and house, which I highly recommend, as well as the old house itself which you are usually able to walk around and look at. This is not to forget the beautiful gardens, trails, riverside walks and park that they have to offer, which is a must to partake in whilst there.

Entering via a long driveway, you are flanked by trees and woodland areas that you are able to visit whilst at the house.

We arrived to the main entrance of the house and it is grandiose. A beautiful front of house with beautiful scenery all around in the gardens.

We had the wedding within the house itself. From the main entrance we were all lead through the house, through many old rooms adorned with old paintings and Victorian era architecture and furniture which was fantastic in itself. Until we stopped within a beautiful, domed hall which carried the acoustics of the piano music perfectly.

Afterwards, we went into the gardens where there is a giant marquee set up (assuming it’s a relatively permanent fixture) and we had the reception in there, which was fantastic.

Such a perfect place to have a wedding.

Beautiful, peaceful place to visit. Just had a walk around the grounds then went into the tea room. The staff in the tearoom were very friendly and polite, got the best fruit scone with cream and gorgeous homemade raspberry jam, caramel latte, white chocolate mocha and cheese scone. I would go back just for the scones and cuppa 😋 definitely be back for another walk and visit the tea room.

A great place to visit with lots of things for children including children's play area with a zip wire that will take adults too.
The guided tour of the house was great as the tour guide was so knowledgeable.
Tea in the stables is fantastic with some lovely cakes. There is large gardens in which you can play on the putting green and there is a separate space for playing croquet.
The riverside walk through the wooded area is pleasant.
There is so much to do here. The staff are friendly and attentive.
