Remote Phone Box & Post Box

So what that the post box serves one, maybe two farms? So what that there is no phone in the phone box? Just take a look at the wild landscape, rolling hills and crystal clear falls and river running through the area and you'll be enchanted by this tiny little red outpost of humanity in a vast wilderness of magnificent beauty.

Great box, had all the essentials, lighter and bottle opener. Nice and errr red. The scenery ain't too shabby either.

If there's a barran place on earth you need to see, this has to be that place.

Moorland telephone box closed by the council due to vandelism 😔

It was onced used by travelling hikers, you can see where people have left 'Trek' bars for times of need. And with nothing around for miles if you don't have a vechicle this could really well of been a life saviour to one.

Call volumes from payphones have fallen from around 800 million minutes in 2002 to just 7 million in 2020

Amazing remote location with the famous Nantmael Telephone & Post Box! Unfortunately the original Button A and Button B Telephone Unit has long since gone! But still this is a wonderful place to drive from either Tregaron, Abergwesyn, or the Llyn Brianne Dam! We were the only visitors during our 30min stop - No other cars, tourists or even sheep! Walk West for 20metres for a small river & waterfalls! Awesome location that few will visit! Recommended!

There is nothing here bar the phone box and post box. Even then the phone box is empty! But what a beautiful secluded area. Wish I brought food and drink with me and just sat and watched the views for few hours. Lovely water fall behind the phone boat and the drive up / down devils staircase ( Gradient 25% ) is a must. It's as good as roads like the Hardknott Pass in the Lake District. Some of the passing places are narrow with a drop on 1 side so be patient and courteous. Roads like this should be savoured not driven like your on a mission to deliver a baby!
