What a wonderful experience to have a walk here, especially on low tide. If you follow the Cleddau Ddu on the edge of the Lawrenny Wood from the Qyayside tearoom there is a path that leads all around to Garron Pill and back to Lawrenny. It goes up and down and is not always easy to walk on but if you are fairly fit it is not very hard to do.

When we got their had to ask locals for directions as their was no signs and they sent us through the woods which I would not recommend. Narrow dirt paths overhanging a 30ft drop. No bins or parking to be found, im sure if you know where to go it would be nice but not much information or signs at the location

Well worth coming here. But it's not really National trust land.
Park on the front. Nice walk through the woods. (Forgetting the signs saying no kids! Or the signs saying no public right of access just landowners have granted access! All over the place.)
Me and my son went crabbing here which was ace. Had a great circular wood walk/road. Spent good few hours here.
Also good little independent cafe !

Lovely cafe and walk, but not a National Trust site as it says on Maps. Lots of birds.

Nice walk but confusing as signs say no access so wasn’t sure we were even doing the circular route, turns out we did after as we chose to ignore the signs as there was nowhere else to go, be aware through the wooded path it is narrow especially take care if you have dogs off the lead as there is a certain point with a very steep drop the other side.

A great circular walk through varied terrain. About half is through the ancient woodland, with some amazing trees and views across the river. The paths are quite rough and could be tricky to navigate in bad weather, so wear good shoes. Part of the walk is across the edge of the mudflats, I can imagine that in very high tides this wouldn't be traversible and you might have to turn around and go back. The National Trust walk guide says to follow the road back to the start, but we came back on a path through fields next to the church, only slightly shorter but I think it is a much nicer walk.

For all the reviews saying they can't find the place (or that it's not National Trust, it is, you must have just not found it), the National Trust land is the forest just beyond the cafe, boatyard and holiday site. The instructions on the National Trust website (as of Aug 2022) describe how to get there, but for completeness drive down the road past the pub, park in the free parking spaces along the road by the boat yard, walk to the right side of the cafe, through the boat yard, bearing left in the yard (follow the signs, and the main roadway), you'll then enter the forest. Once in there's only one path through so you can't really go wrong.

For the reviewer who said about signs saying no kids, either they didn't actually read them, or they're being disingenuous here. The signs actually say no children without an adult, this is because those are where you walk through a working boat yard.

A nice place to walk. A little overgrown in places in spite of being owned by National Trust, which is why I did not give it 5 stars. Some parts marked on the map were a little steep, so caution should be taken when icy or wet, but there are so many crisscrossing paths that the steeper sections can be easily avoided. The main circular walk is not very long - about 1.2 miles, maybe - but there are many paths connecting to the National Trust area, so I'm sure there's more walking to be done. There's a bridleway, too, if horses are your thing.

Not a huge walk. 0.7miles is all. Great view and nice Quay.
