Took an unscheduled stop here but were glad we did. There aren't many parking spaces, and the drive up was a bit tight for a long car.

But once at the top, you buy your tickets, pick up your hard hats and torches, and then head in without a guide. And that was what was so nice about these caverns. You could make your own way round without having to be on a tour.

It doesn't take long to walk around (only 20 to 30 minutes). We paid £24.50 for two adults and a child.

There is a cafe at the top although we didn't try it.

All in all, worth a visit.

We had no intention of visiting but did on the spur of the moment as we were passing.
It was excellent quite awe inspiring when you see the size of the caverns, all dug out by candle light. Well worth a visit

Well worth a visit, very interesting. Well stocked gift shop and tea shop. The lady there was very helpful and informative. The views across the bay are spectacular.

What an absolute gem of a place!
Would 100% recommend, as long as you're OK in the dark and small spaces.
It was very quiet when we went, were given a helmet and a torch and pointed to the entrance. We wandered about at our leisure. Spent an hour and a half there.

Amazing to see the geology of this area and learn about the effort that went into extracting the slate tiles on the roofs of old houses. Definitely worth a stop, between beaches! (And pick up some of the cheese!)

Age range from 44 to 10 and we all loved it ..
Even Wilson the dog did too..

Had a quick cuppa at the tea room and staff were friendly.
Also visited the gift shop.
The lady and her two children that were helping were super nice.
Don't forget to get some cheese.
It's gorgeous.
Well worth the visit

Historic slate mine experience. Great views of the surrounding sea from the car park. Well lit underground self guided tour. Nice and cool in the heat and warm on the cold days! Always wet. Cafe on grounds and good gift shop. Really enjoyed. £30 for 2plus2 at time of writing.

Really interesting and immersive experience, its cold, dark and damp, very atmospheric. You get a hard hat and a torch and let loose to explore at your own pace. The owner was happy to share the history of the mine and how they turned it into a tourist attraction nearly 50 years ago. The cafe was great, lovely food and fabulous views over the coast. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Well done!
