Where to start? Market Place debacle, sale of the assembly rooms that no Bostonians wanted, Conservative majority running the council from behind closed doors, disabled parking fiasco, paying someone £675 per day to identify council overspending.....the list goes on.

It's ok , if you like tat , sadly I must tell the obvious , cheap shops , eastern European shops , betting shops , charity shops , an oldrids , a Smith's , boots and an end of line marks and sparks . Run down and in need of decorating . There is a drink and drugs problem despite the prognostications of the politicians and police chiefs . There is a mass of history , there are some truly gorgeous buildings , the people are the salt of the earth , ignore the silt of the earth everyone else tries to , the drains smell badly , the public toilets are just about holding up . The town church is the stump a magnificent specimen , and watched over by Princess Anne , bless her heart , . I think that was an even handed assesment .

20 Years since I left Boston and I noticed the Quay is almost empty of fishing boats when once it was full. Many local shops are now off licences, food shops or cheap shops. A lot of quality has dissipated from the town. The market was also much smaller than it used to be. Streets are filled with litter (especially beer cans). There are still many nice things to see around town especially if you like history and old buildings.

Boston is my home, a pretty town with great community spirit. Over the past few years many volunteer community groups have started up by people who care about the town, working with the council plus its a great way to make new friends. Boston in Bloom keep the town looking good all year round with flower beds and planters. Christmas in Boston Team fund raise, make light decorations and work with the council to give a fantastic display of Christmas Lights and an ever-popular switch on night with thousands turning out to support the event. Boston More in Common organises regular events to encourage integration, reaching out to all nationalities living in the town. There are History Tours in the summer with lots of council run family events in the town to look forward to. Boston has many small independent business and shops as well as the larger chain stores. Boston Stump is a beautiful church, warm and welcoming with a lovely coffee shop and friendly atmosphere. The Guildhall and Fydell House are lovely places to visit. Blackfriars Theatre and Shodfriars are a must too. Boston is unique with its history and buildings and certainly worth a visit. There are plenty of choices to eat out, and lots of different food to try. The Eastern European shops and resturants offer lots of choices for something different too. Wednesday and Saturday is Market Day in the Market Place. On Wednesdays there is an Auction on the Green Car Park with quite a few stalls, great for a good browse or picking up a bargain. Boston is a friendly place. A lovely place to visit or live.

Just walked round my wonderfull birth place.Only recently moving out of town after 64 years. What a mess the streets have not been swept, near where they are refurbishing the town bridge , only narrow footpath for pedestrians passing each other, one man didn't bother to dismount his bicycle. Bus still running through centre of pedestrian area. Three drunken men down the alleyway near Oxfam old premises one deciding a good place to urinate. Where are the enforcement officers.
The Boston in bloom people were doing a grand job, probably a thankless task. Thank God that stump is still standing..
