The enclosed grounds to the house closed off to dogs, no access to see the house except from 500yds at the front. OK walks for dog owners, cafe is dog friendly

Great place for walks with the dogs. They have built some things for children to do on the walks that are off the trail. The cafe is dog friendly and has water bowls for the dogs. The food is good and reasonably priced.
In the house the views are good and there's lots to see while walking round.
There's a few steps but all are easy to climb up and be safe. The shops there have a wide variety of stuff and they sell local flowers grown in the gardens. A great place to have a day out and an adventure for small children.

Had a lovely time at Hardwick hall and gardens, had a walk round the lakes then up to the hall the tapestries in the hall are worth having a look. There is a cafe and I must say very very clean toilets. And the national trust employers are very helpful.

Hardwick Hall is an absolute treasure. I love the house with its amazing history, Bess of Hardwick is a phenomenal inspiration and her house stands in testament to her achievements.
The grounds are beautiful and it's surrounded by acres of land with some beautiful ponds too.
At the house itself there is a National Trust Cafe, gift shop and toilets. They often run activities for the kids through the holidays too so well worth a visit.

Small but modern, clean and efficient building with helpful staff. Guidebooks to Hardwick Hall available to purchase from here.

I haven't been inside but it's nice place for walk. Big area to have nice family walk when you can spot cows and wild animals. A bit muddy but with "winter" weather its not surprising. A bit of Noise from motorway but it's not disturbing walk and chilling at all.

A wonderful example of 16th century wealth. Very interesting with a lovely kitchen garden. There's also a restaurant and shop. Please check the website for any booking requirements.

Big hall & loads of walks to do, the M1 is very close so you get the noise from that, especially when you go down to the row of lakes, Hardwick is at the top of a hill so some of the walks can be a bit steep
