Model making etc has always been my hobby. When my wife recently starting collecting dolls houses naturally I got the job of constructing and repairing houses and furniture. She has been looking for a French style dolls house and found it on this site. I was astounded of the poor quality of manufacture of this item when it arrived. Packed in the flimsiest of corrugated card. Many of the small items were loose and had damaged some larger items in transit. The corners of the large items were damaged owing to poor packing. Some parts were missing and even worse some were the wrong size. The finish of the cutting was rough and inaccurate and will need sanding smooth. ( bearing in mind MDF is carcinogenic ). Took 3 attempts at sending me the proper items, and still he got it wrong. I gave up! Not the kind of service you expect from a professional company. Steer clear of this company!

Dollhouse Direct Review: I just have to share the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my fifty years.

I contacted this company to purchase a dollhouse from them, and they wouldn't respond for days, and when they did, they wouldn't answer all of the questions I had asked. Then after finally purchasing, they decided at that point to tell me it would take three weeks to build because they didn't have it in stock. I said, "Okay, but can you give me the dimensions of the rooms so I can start ordering pieces. And I got no response. I didn't get another response until I had to contact them again three weeks later, wondering what was going on.

When the dollhouse got here, all the trim and windows were heavily burnt from laser cutting. Nowhere on their website did they say they laser cut their pieces. In fact, all the images show all the windows are CNC'd. After contacting them again, I was told their website didn't say they don't laser cut their pieces. Okay, let me get this right, simply because you don't say it means they could be? Even the images on the website don't show laser-cut parts.

At that point, I asked to return the dollhouse, and the company said I would have to pay for shipping because their website never said their pieces weren't laser cut. They were blaming me for their deceit. Now I'm stuck with an item that I couldn't use in the way I wanted to.

So I threatened to call the Better Business Bearou and leave a bad review online, and they refused to return my emails. So being the Christian I am, I sent an email saying I wouldn't do anything; I would just leave it in God's hands at that point, and let Him be the judge.

Now, after attempting to put this thing together anyway, I discovered it's missing seven windows. So I tried to contact them a couple of days ago and tell them there are missing windows, and they refuse to return my message.

There are crushed corners on the parts. Pieces and windows are cut in the wrong sizes. Nothing matches the photos on the website. The image on the website show nice hardwood trim around the outside, in differing sizes. And they sent strips of MDF board cut in a single size, and they are all burnt, and beyond use; they are all trash.

I worked in customer service for years, and these people should be ashamed. This was the worst purchasing experience I have ever had. Horrible...

Can’t fault this place. Bought my own house to assemble, called the shop and the owner was so helpful, telling me which windows and doors etc will fit. Have been buying all my extras on eBay and Etsy from them as everything is as it’s shown on the website. No idea why people have a problem with pieces being burnt, I just painted them! Will return again and again as I’ve got so in to this hobby. Trying to make time so I can go to the shop.

I have purchased 2 buildings from Dolls House Direct. They are well designed and made, and go together easily. I am currently working on the Harry Potter Great Hall. Any queries have been dealt with in a really kind and helpful way, and extra pieces were supplied free of charge when I made a mistake on a window. I would wholeheatedly recommend anyone thinking of buying a dollshouse building to choose one of their extensive designs.
They also offer a really good range of high quality furniture, mouldings and accessories - their Lily- Ann bathroom suites are superb for example.

EXCELLENT customer service,kept well informed all the way through, house arrived extremely well packaged, everything I need to get going ,( Hubbie can go fishing as often as he likes now ) good quality for the price too, can’t wait to visit the store itself, you really need to take a look at this site, many thanks to Gary & Co for this lovely little house 😊

My mum left me money for a new dolls house with my husband as a thank you for doing her end of life care. I have arthritis in my hands and am enjoying building The Woodstock with only a tiny bit of help from my daughter. Will be getting extras from Dolls house direct and will be recommending to my friends

Damaged corners and late delivery, all because the machine was faulty. Don't know if the house will assemble with the damaged corners. Only 1 box opened at the moment, what surprise is in store with box two.
