My mum has a love of steam trains so I did this for her and it was a fantastic experience. We started at Dalegarth and had about 90 mins in Ravenglass where we found Ravenglass handmade ice-cream which was delicious. A must visit.

We come from Ravenglass train station on the steam train for a afternoon tea which was so nice and the carriage we where sitting in was quite small for my partner who suffers with sciatica and back pain so I went into the ticket office and asked the lady can we be moved to a different seat coming back she was such a great help and changed our seat thank you Jacky you where a star thank you 😁

Had a mooch up to Boot for a little wander over the fells Wednesday just gone. Off season so everything was shut but work was going on at the station. Asked if it was possible to unlock the toilets as we were desperate and they did... at that moment not even 20 stars would express our gratitude!

Station at the end of the Ravenglass to Eskdale narrow gauge steam railway line. Good cafe & wonderful views. Basic memorabilia for sale. Tasty pies and kiddies meals, coffee and mulled pies. Enough to keep you busy on a rainy day. Looked like some interesting sights within walking distance but was very wet and cold so with the grand kids we never made it out of the station cafe until the return trip.
