Portsmouth & Southsea

For a regional train station, the neo-renaissance architecture is striking albeit certain parts are overwhelmed with pigeons. Close to the city centre and the staff were helpful. Has two levels of platforms so check the board to see where your train is leaving from.

Has a direct connection to Gatwick's South Terminal with Southern Railway. About an hour away.

On 24th Jul we arrived at Portsmouth & S Station. Our holiday started off really well because of Jason's kind and helpful attitude. Thank you!

Better service than Portsmouth harbour and a more central location.

Platform 1 and 2 are on the upper bound

Station was clean and tidy. Signage could have been better but staff member was helpful.

Very well-placed central station, close to Commercial Rd. The access to the platforms can be made through tapping a card or your e-ticket QR code. The station is clean, but very quiet. Seems that not many people pass around here.
There are two levels - platform 1 & 2 are above on 1st floor (going to Portsmouth Harbor), and the terminus platforms are the one at ground floor (platforms 3 & 4). Trains depart to London as well and they are on time, pretty fast and clean, although a little too expensive in my opinion.

The staff at the ticket booth are rude and unhelpful, but the services are good

Portsmouth and Southsea railway station is near the shopping street in Portsmouth. It is a taxi ride to the ferry terminal for France. Platform 1 offers a raised view over the busy town and recent new buildings.
