North Weald

Great days out are held here and the preservation society are doing a great job maintaining the equipment and installations. When we were there the local brewery had installed a real ale tent, the butchers had a bbq on and vintage double decker buses were on hand to ferry people from the other stations on the line. Brilliant day out for the family.

This is a small station but it is busy with visitors who enjoy steam trains. It is great that it is pram/wheelchair friendly, there is a crossing you can use to get to the other platform rather than using the footbridge. There is a cafe, small gift shop here and toilets too. On the day we visited there was face painting, a Gruffalo happily posing for photos with people, and owls that could perch on your arm. There are regular vintage buses that stop here, we used the one that travelled from Epping station.

Very polite staff, enthusiastic about the railway! They let us go in the drivers cab before the train set off. A very nice day had by me and my family. Thankyou.

Santa express was really great fun. The volunteers make it a really good day out serving the burgers, mulled wine, and mince pies. There is also a brass band pumping out the carols. The connecting buses from Epping and shuttle train from Ongar mean parking is not an issue.

Great place, with friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Also the buses and trains were awesome 😁

Great location and great atmosphere. We joined Spectral Hunters for an night of paranormal investigation. So much to explore and do, using all their equipment. Would definitely like to return with the team.

Heritage railway and vintage routemaster buses run from here. Good facilities and well preserved station.
