This review is written after first hand experience of employee and management skills, albeit lack of skills!!!
I have photographic evidence should any one want to see how they potentially could have cost my largest contract to date.
Please read below.
We travelled from North Wales to complete work in Newcastle for an extremely high profile client we hire van mounted access platforms too.
I pride my self on my time keeping. An essential part of any professional business.
Sadly I can't attach pictures to highlight the sheer incompetents of this supposed haulage firm employees. Given they are in the transport industry you'd assume they would respect other commercial vehicles in a car park. I had parked with clear access all around, allowing safe and easy departure in the morning.
With one of their Silver Mercedes Vito vans they had totally blocked us in!!!! Parked 2" inches from my access platform bumper.
I was totally trapped in. I took reg from the van and spoke to management in the hotel. It took an hour and a half to raise said idiot from his bed. Management were ringing room and also knocking furiously on the door.
In the mean time I called their head office and spoke to the transport manager explaining the serious situation his employees had caused - I may as well of tried boiling water in a chocolate kettle. He was so unhelpful. You'd of thought as his firm travel the country as I do he realise the gravity of my current predicament. He simply said what do you want me to do about it!!! Obviously ring the idiot who'd parked his van trapping me in. I ended call as I was not in the mood for dealing with such an arrogant man.
Can you imagine how he'd feel if his firm were needed on site at 7am to move an important piece of equipment for say the Ministry of Defence and were running against time restraints of road access etc and I'd blocked his vehicle in what makes it worse the car park we were in had numerous empty spaces all around.
I've been in business for 24 years. I'm saddened that companies such as this have so little respect for other working men travelling the country just as they do....
Without photographic evidence to show my client how I'd been trapped in I'd of lost all my work in the North East. Thankfully the company understood it was Allelys Haulage that had caused this issue.
I hope karma 1 day gives them a taste of how I felt that morning...with the risk of losing an extremely important client.
The first trailer had to collect a second load for delivery to Warwick: Because the trailer was so late, it was equaly late and did not arrive until late afternoon. The end result of this fiasco was us having to pay for a second day on the large crane, had to leave the factory roof off over night and mteam of six engineers / riggers work a second day: The cost to our Compnay was towards £12,000:00. Three times I tried contacting the MD of Allely: Three times he ignored my requests to retrun my calls. When finally he did phone me, his actual words were "Chris, we were not REALLY late" - In total Allely were over 6.5 hours late, told a pack of lies and not once even apologised: Their two drivers were embarassed, apologised profusely and did there best to make amends:
Allely had previously quoted these two vehicles: When they invoiced us they had double charged us !! Upon trying to discuss this by phone and email with Allely, we were met with silence: I have been involved in heavy haulage and heavy installations for over 50 years: Without doiubt I have never ever come across such an unbelievably bad Company as Allely: Would we ever use Allely again? With my last gasp of breath: Never never.
