Contacted to book a low cost holiday around £700 (started at £161pp plus £25 transfer and 1x15kg bag in addition) and it turned into 2 hour phonecall. One person I spoke to (apparently called Amanda) attempted to spell my name at least 10 times and got it wrong using phonetic alaphabet, didn’t explain everything clearly even asking for clarification, she provided times etc of flights. She failed to explain that there is an additional £29pp added to the total cost.
A man called me back a short while later (apparently called Mark), he told me the booking ref of the hotel but the flights we were given are not there anymore and it will cost us an additional £25pp on the original quote. So this low cost £700 holiday was now at over £1000!! So we said no to the flights as they were too late returning back to the UK. We explained that it was agreed with the flights originally and we wanted to cancel. 40 minutes later after Mark (the bully) continued to talk pushing the hard sell, telling me I couldn’t cancel as I had taken the booking ref of the hotel (which was thrust upon me and then there were no flights). He kept telling us that our deposit was taken (it wasn’t as we had no confirmation) we eventually managed to tell him (and that he believed us) that we were not booking after my husband took over the telephone call as the was he spoke to me was appalling. He eventually confirmed that the hotel would charge them £60 cancellation fee and that we wouldnt get our card charged with the deposit.
To sum up - don’t ever book with these bullies, they will give you a quote then call back asking for more money, tell you that your deposit has been taken as you have accepted the hotel reference no at the start of the call, tell you that you accepted the terms and conditions and because the advisor hadn’t told you cannot cancel then you can’t. WELL YOU CAN!!! ITS STIPULATED ON THEIR WEBSITE.
