Hays Travel Newcastle Under Lyme

Booked Spain for Feb half term only to find that we had to cancel due to new vaccination rules for over 12’s. Hays’s Newcastle under lyme branch advised that the Jet 2 contract meant that we would lose £600 if cancelled now and £1200 if we left it another five days.
As it was medically impossible for the kids to be vaccinated in time, trading standards said that the Jet 2 contract was “frustrated” and not legally enforceable, Hays’s legal team agreed, and the branch gave us their guarantee that they would fight our corner with a complaint.
It transpired they effectively gave evidence against us and we are out of pocket by £600 – I originally chose Hays as I was impressed on how they re-employed the Thomas Cook staff when that company failed, if I had gone to Jet 2 directly the outcome may have been better and certainly not any worse – So the question I now ask is what is the point of using a traditional travel agent?
Buyer beware - steer clear of Hays.

Only called in for currency after being let down by 2 tui's plus another. But delivered. Left item in store which when I rang them next day they had put away so good to collect.

Well, what can I say! I travel extensively for work and I don’t leave reviews but the outstanding service I received from Sian in your store was fantastic! She listened to My every request and tailored a package which is out of this world! As soon as I have dates confirmed I will be booking.
