I purchased an X5 from the dealership and unfortunately experienced quite a few problems from day 1, but all things considered, I'm happy with the way the dealership handled my issues in the end. Mid COVID19 outbreak, I regrettably decided to buy the car online without having seen it in the flesh. The dealership looked professional enough online and the condition of the car looked great in their images. That was my silly mistake. To start with, I discovered that the car was not as described in terms of bodywork condition, but they did agree to knock £300 off on the day of collection to cover the cost of a respray of the front bumper. Then whilst driving away, I noticed a really loud knocking sound from the front wheel. So I quickly returned and they investigated, only to find a wedged stone between the wheel and the brake disc. -Surprised that wasn't picked up in preparation, but nevertheless, they solved the issue there and then. Then things unfortunately took a turn for the worse. When driving the car home, I noticed the engine management light come on, followed by a warning message for the adblue system. This tallied up with the poor fuel economy which was showing 21mpg - odd for a diesel and eco motorway driving. By the time I was home I had called the dealership and they agreed to allow me to get the car looked at by a BMW independent specialist. Sadly a week on, that specialist discovered around 40 faults registered on the ECU, the most worrying of which were issues with the EGR system which was leading to quite costly repairs. I had some comfort with the 12mths warranty, until I looked at the cost limit of £2,000 per issue which would have been totally inadequate in this situation. Nevertheless, Deane Motors had agreed that they would stand the repair bill. However, after discovering that I had no choice but to get the car looked at by a main dealer, we discussed things further and eventually agreed that the best course of action would be for me to return the car for a full refund. Whilst I had wasted quite a bit of time and money getting the car looked at, I was happy to walk away 2 weeks later leaving me free to purchase a main-dealer car with all the standards and guarantees you would expect from a main dealer. Despite the very poor experience I had with the car, I can at least appreciate that the dealership took my situation seriously and eventually did the right thing. Now I think the most important thing to note for anyone considering buying from Deane Motors is how well you think they prepare their cars. All cars are apparently sourced from main dealer trade ins - not that that counts for much in reality as they are usually sold as seen. My experience certainly suggests that the car was not properly reviewed before it went on sale. A road test in the car and a turn on a diagnostics machine would have proven that. Lesson learnt for me - never buy a car over the internet without inspecting and test driving it first, no matter how kosher the garage/images look online. I usually have better judgement than that, but do consider myself lucky that they did the right thing in the end. I'm down about £160 in costs though - a lucky escape.

A very helpful salesman let us have a test drive. Didn't buy the car but would definitely go back if the right car comes up.

Happy to take your money, including delivering the car for free.
However as soon as there is any problems with the car they ignore every attempt to contact them. I will escalating my issues with trading standards & the motor ombudsman.
Car was obviously not serviced like they promised - no air con gas, low engine oil, needs new wipers, engine mount, among other serious faults.
Main car repair costing me 12k (transfer box , propshaft, gearbox among other things replacing), with the 3rd party warranty only paying up to 1k, this isn’t great. I am now at almost 7 weeks without a working car.
I would avoid at all costs, no car is worth the hassle.

What I thought was an easy no hassle purchase from start to finish until I have just been to a dealer to have a towbar fitted only to be told the vehicle has had a rear end shunt as cross beam is bent. Needs a new cross beam before towbar can be fitted.
Was NOT told about any accident prior to purchasing the vehicle. Will probably explain the boot lid being out of alignment.

Thrilled with the service I've had from Deane Motors. I recently purchased a Panamera from them. Both Mark and Duncan were most helpful for any questions I had, even though I'm quite a long way from the Dealership, delivery was arranged. The car is immaculate (even better than I imagined) and prepared to a very high standard. Highly recommended.

I purchased a BMW 2 Series from Deane Motors in March and couldn’t be happier! My first point of contact was with a gentleman called Jim, he guided me throughout the whole buying process and is a real credit to Deane Motors’ team. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, I purchased the car under a ‘click & collect’ basis which was a bit of a worry for me, but I’m glad I took the risk. However, that’s not to say I didn’t have any problems… 10 minutes down the road after collecting the car, the backing to my seat popped off, I called up Deane Motors straight away and they told me to bring the car back and they’ll take a look. I brought the car back to them where they fixed the issue and I was on my way again within 5 minutes- perfect!
When purchasing the car, it came with a fresh service and MOT. About a week after collection I discovered that a couple items that should’ve been replaced during the service were missed out. I contacted Jim once again to get the issue resolved and he couldn’t have been more helpful. Deane Motors agreed that they would cover the costs of correcting the issues, they even found and contacted a mechanic local to me to carry out the work, so all I needed to do was drop my car off!
So overall, although there were a couple ‘teething’ issues, the aftersales care from Deane Motors was impeccable and I can’t fault them whatsoever. The car was presented beautifully, the customer service was spot on and the process couldn’t have been smoother. So I’m one happy customer!
If you’re looking for a new car, I would 100% recommend taking a trip down to Deane Motor’s.

Great service from Deane Motors. Purchased a Range Rover Velar online, great customer service from Duncan. Exceptionally easy transition. Car delivered at no cost with a 6 month warranty thrown in . Great little independent retailer, highly recommended.

I recently purchased a Range Rover sport, couldn’t be more happy with the outstanding service and the car was present spotlessly. After being messed around by another dealership I was reluctant to go to another but Deane motors was the best garage I have ever dealt with no matter how many questions I had, everyone of them was answered. Deane motors has definitely restored my faith in the dealership industry. If you’re looking to buy a vehicle I wouldn’t use anyone else! Thank you once again Deane motors!
