A week after I purchased the car, I found rust on the wings. A great deal of it on one side with a large hole and the other side was heading the same way.
(I did not see this when viewing, nor was I made aware of this issue).
I took this back to James who basically shrugged his shoulders and said it was a 'cheap car' he also advised ne that he knew it was there at the point of sale. I was not made aware of this, if I had seen it I wouldn't have bought it.
I recived 3 quotes to fix the wings - £1260, £690 and £960.
I contacted James and said I'd like a refund as this all happened a week after I bought the car. He offered me an opportunity to fix the problem before a refund could be made. (Fair enough)
The car was taken back and James said that he would sort a courtesy car if it was longer than a week.
13 days passed and no courtesy car was offered. No updates as to what was going on. I had to chase James 4 or 5 times for information.
I picked up my car after 13 days and I paid for the repair but I had noticed that my wing mirror was damaged, another part of the car was also slightly damaged and another job that was not completed.
I feel I have been mislead and treated unfairly. I certainly would not buy a car from James again. To also be told that it is just a "cheap car" is also unfair and disappointing.
All round, it has not been a good experience and I certainly would not recommend to anyone.
Stay away people, it's not worth the hassle.
Purchased a BMW X3 from this garage had issues from the day after I got it. The car was taken back for repair kept for 4 days apparently had a service. After collecting car and driving less than 300 miles oil light came on when checked it was empty, no visible signs of oil leak. Car also started making a noise later confirmed to be the differential. Took car back to be looked at again and after over a week of chasing them with emails, calls, texts, Facebook messages and all being ignored I used the chat feature on the website which seemed to get me a reply to be told that it’s normal for a car of that engine size, age and mileage to use that much oil. Took it to my local garage who confirmed it is not normal and is indeed excessive and advised me to return the car. After citizens advice confirming I am within my consumer rights to do so, that is what I did. They had my car for over 4 weeks while I was chasing them for a refund again with endless emails, calls, text messages, most of which were totally ignored. Finally after over 3 months and sending my final court warning letter they agreed to a partial refund at a loss to myself of £495 which I agreed to just to have the ordeal over with and not have the hassle of a court claim. But that was still not the end of it. I went to garage to sign car back to them and get my card refunded. A few hours later no transactions shown in my account. Contacted James yet again and was asked to let him know on Monday if still no refund. Surprise surprise, Monday came and still, no refund. After more ignored calls I got an email asking for my bank details and even when I had sent them it still took over 24 hours for the refund to show up. The absolutely dismal after sales and customer service would have me suggest caution when considering buying from this garage.
They know their market and vehicles and only operate within it which I think helps to ensure a reliable deal/purchase. Definitely worth checking out their stock of vehicles.
Thank you James, the Great Dane fits perfectly!
FYI... We drove from east sussex to excter for such a good deal!!
Update: Still not received my VC5 logbook. To get a replacement will cost me. James, do the right thing and talk to your customers instead of hiding behind a women.Updating you are under new ownership yet still telling people James will contact me, is dodgy. Trading standards have now been contacted regarding the dealership. The warranty Company not answer your calls either. Avoid. Spend your money elsewhere.
New update: car went into the garage as the engine management light came on. As a result of this nightmare l was told the car should be scrapped and would cost a fortune to repair. The chain belt was stretched and major issues with cpu or something like that. The car has since been scrapped. £1800 out of pocket. Avoid this place.
