Pinetree Car Superstore - Bridgend

I bought a Vauxhall Astra from Pinetree Car Superstore Port Talbot (now in Tonypandy) in May 2018. When I bought the car, they performed a service but could not provide proof of what work was done. I also had to return the car within the first few days when the “Service Vehicle Soon” light remained on which I am now aware shows a fault. 3 months later; the windscreen wipers stopped working so I took the car for repair at their Bridgend site. Since then, they have attempted to return the car back 3 times over a period of over 1 month and each time I have had to take the car back with the same or different fault. Communication was very poor initially but improved only after approximately 2 weeks when I finally got a courtesy car. After approximately 1 month, I asked for a replacement and was offered trade value as part exchange which I considered unreasonable. I then had to chase them to get a replacement and was offered a very poor finance deal and still a significant reduction in the value of my car. I ended up getting a refund at a significant loss. Customer service was less than adequate at the start but did improve somewhat until i was told that I was unethical when I said I was going to post a review. I would NOT recommend buying a car from Pinetree Car Superstores.

I was promised a valet and that the car would be thoroughly cleaned but upon picking up the vehicle it reeked of tobacco and marijuana. Several months later after trying to get rid of the odours I discovered bags that had blatantly contained marijuana stuffed in the storage behind the front seat. I proceeded to find what looked like an oxycodone tablet in the other seat. This is completely unacceptable as this could have later got me in to trouble had the police ever needed to look inside my car. Under the center piece behind the handbrake laid multiple cigarette filters, papers and tobacco. I'm extremely unhappy with this and would warn anyone who is looking to buy a car from these to make sure it is clean upon inspection. I feel like I've been lied to and I feel like the service I was promised was not provided. would not recommen.

Bought my car from pinetree on 15th February after looking for a week with them and others. Dealt with Blake as well as a few others but Blake was so patient and nothing was too much trouble in helping me find my perfect family car. I would definately reccomend them and use them in the future.

Mo is simply the best. Will definitely be looking to purchase from him in the long term. My car purchased from mo is amazing

My Partner & I bought a Vauxhall Astra Estate from Bridgend. At first, everything seemed great took the car for a test drive (5 minutes) and the sales man (mo) was lovely. But...
10 minutes after leaving the court, the car broke down.
We rung the garage, took a key back & was told by mo that he would collect the car that day.Only to be told when we got home that the car was not being collected the same day. After being very forward with the guy, the car was collected.
We were also told that we would find it very difficult to get our money back & if they fix the car we would basically be stuck with it.
Rung up on the Monday & the guy who answered the phone has stinking attitude.
I am only giving it 2 stars because the after sales team & complaints team in Tonypandy was great. They were able to fix the car, but understood the reasons as to why we didn't want it and provided us with all of out money back.

Advice for anyone buying a used car would be to take it for more than one test drive for longer & if your not happy with the satisfactory level of what they have sold, you are protected under the Consumer rights act 2015.

After my first shambolic experience at the baglan branch buying my first car I swore off pinetree. Yet here I am 13 years later.... Husband bought and paid in cash over £5500 for a car which is still under the three month warranty. Within a month the car showed signs of the clutch malfunctioning. After being advised we must take it to certain garages which due to Christmas had no availability until after the warranty expires we were told to take it to any VAT garage. Every garage we spoke to regarding looking at the vehicle and explained problems said they were pretty sure the clutch needed replacing at a cost of 1k minimum for inspection, parts, fitting and putting back together. These garages also said pinetree would get out of paying it under "wear and tare". Rung back pinetree who confirmed it was probably wear and tare. Got a new clutch, got it fitted at a cost of £550 thinking we'd just take the hit, which voids our warranty. Upon fitting the clutch the garage found the gearbox is faulty and needs relacing at a further cost to ourselves if at least £600 using a second hand gear box without fitting. Do NOT recommend Pinetree at all.

Sales (Rhian) initially was fantastic, where they couldn’t do enough for me. However and whilst I was prepared to travel nearly 3 hours to get to them, on the Eve of me doing so they cancelled due to a power fault with the car?
Whilst this did not fill me with confidence, it took me to chase a couple of days later as to the state of said vehicle and due to them not knowing, I cancelled the deal.
Even more annoyingly, it took ‘me’ a week to chase for my refund deposit.
All in all, not a great experience, hence I’m a little reluctant to recommend them to any future potential buyers.
