We have just stayed at Treferwydd (Homestead) we can't say enough good things about this cottage, it was beautiful and wished we could have stayed longer! It was the decor and personal touches that made it special, it is well equipped with everything you need and we felt comfortable there straight away.
The location was stunning, so quiet and peaceful, watching the little baby rabbits in the lovely garden was a treat, we came away feeling very calm.

The only one thing i would say is that the master bedroom with the en-suite does not have a hanging wardrobe and could really do with one, even if it is a small one it would be nice to have somewhere to hang clothes.
Will definitely use this company again, Catherine was really helpful when booking this up.
Thank you Boltholes and hideaways :-)

We stayed at 1 St Marys Cottage in Beaumaris. We didn't feel the cottage lived up to its listing on the website and is in need of a refresh.

The main issue was that when we arrived the property smelt stale and of wet dog, and the floor was covered with dirt and so obviously hadn't been hoovered or mopped. As I initially walked around in my socks, after 5 minutes they were brown on the soles. There was also lots of dog hair collected under the TV and down the side of the sofas and the rug and cloth sofa again smelt of dog.

We called the emergency number and the cleaner was able to come round straight away - she agreed with us that the property did smell and offered to take the rug away for us. She said she had last cleaned the property 4 weeks ago and so in the meantime the owner had been in the property. This did worry me as that does not align with their covid protocols. We went out while she hoovered and mopped the floors and on our return the situation was better, but it did put a dampener on our holiday as it left us feeling that the cottage really wasn't that clean as their standards promise, it needed to be aired constantly and it did put us off eating there.

As a dog friendly cottage I would expect that the property would be extensively cleaned and aired in between visitors and that any rugs/curtains are cleaned properly at regular intervals, and laminate flooring and leather sofas used throughout to reduce the lingering smell.

We felt the stairs carpet also needed updating as it was very worn and again this would surely be better as bare floorboards that could be cleaned properly between visitors.

It has left us disappointed with the accommodation we chose, we left to go home earlier than planned, and unfortunately we wouldn't choose to book with this company again.

*Edit in response*

There was never any communication from the owner about air fresheners or indeed anything else, this is a lie. The stairs runner was no way antique either. Yes a cleaner came around but sadly the house still stank and was unclean, in the end we left 2 days early. Won't be staying with you again.

Wonderful stay at Plas Elyn, which is absolutely gorgeous and had plenty of space for our multi-gen family of 6. We loved watching the garden wildlife including daily breakfast-time visits from a red squirrel! It is a bird-watcher’s paradise. Lots of toys, games and equipment to help our toddler safe and engaged. Brilliantly equipped kitchen, and we also made use of the pizza oven provided. Lovely spaces to sit and relax both inside and out, with marvellous sea and mountain views. Appreciated the powerful fans provided for the attic bedrooms in the recent hot spell; the downstairs rooms are very well insulated due to thick stone walls, which was great.

We stayed at Coron, which is part of Capel Seion on Aberffraw.
Wow! What a place…..that’s the location and the property. The apartment was roomy, comfortable, clean and unique. With everything you needed provided. We didn’t want to leave! Our first visit to Anglesey and it won’t be the last. We were blown away by it and it has a place in our hearts. We are looking forward to returning as soon as we can.
Our only issue was the parking, as once larger cars are parked it can be difficult to manoeuvre into a space but this didn’t greatly impact our holiday.

Stayed at Anchor Cottage with my mother and little dog at the end of June and I have got to say that after over a decade of self catering in houses throughout the UK, this lovely property is probably one of our best yet! Fantastic location, a 5-10min stroll to the harbour, excellent little patio space for our pooch with outdoor furniture, and fantasticly clean & well equipped rooms. I can't say enough about the place other that it has made me fall in love with Anglesey.

I have just spent a few wonderful days at 3 Pant Y Celyn. Cathy let me know that the cottage was ready & I arrived to find a chilled bottle of wine, milk & welsh cakes - perfect. The cottage was spotless & has lovely bed linen & towels. It is extremely quiet & peaceful, great for a relaxing holiday. I spent a lovely day walking from the cottage to Penmon Point, having lunch at the Pilot cafe. I look forward to returning for another stay. Thank you Cathy & Rick

The musty smell hit me as soon as I opened the door. There were dampness and mould marks on the walls. No heat source in kitchen. I have bad asthma and the condition of the property effected my breathing throughout my stay. I took photos and contacted Boltholes & Hideaways after the trip. They phoned me [even though I had asked specifically for email communication] and were abrupt and lacked empathy. They didn't apologise or take any responsibility. In short, they said because I didn't mention it as soon as I arrived they couldn't help. I checked in after hours on a Friday evening. Their office was shut, I had no phone signal in remote Wales and there was no way of contecting them!!!! They wouldn't listen and just spoke over me. Awful considering what they charge! This property should never have been on the market in that condition.
