Animal Ark Vets in Ilford

I’ve been a loyal customer for over 12years and used to take both my dogs here. Their service is great, the vets are great and over the years the practice has grown more successful. HOWEVER, the reason for low score is even after one and half years I can’t forget that when it mattered most they let me down. One of my dogs had to be put to sleep after a failed operation for cancer. We asked and paid for the dog to be cremated and the ashes returned to us so we could bury it at home. However due to an admin mix up my dog was not cremated and returned to us and just disposed of. There was no compensation and just an mere apology. The thought of losing my dog twice is something hard to overcome and forget. I now take my new dog to a different vets ☹️

We have been using this practise for over 15 years and while I was concerned when they were sold on I didn't need to worry.
The staff are lovely and the new vet is brilliant with my dogs. My saluki is not very keen on men but she was soon very comfortable with the vet even though he is male. So far I have not been disappointed.

Yes, the old vets and nurses have left (which were fantastic) although from my perspective my opinion about the clinic has not changed - I have never been overcharged here, even when I went there last month. The nurses and vets are always ready to help, my dog had an ear infection and they took me in for a check up the same day. I am still getting their advice about it over emails until now - as soon as I have any questions they are always ready to help even if I cannot come in physically.
Last month I went there for vaccination, my dog is a bit antisocial when it comes to other pets and the nurses already know that from years ago. To avoid the stress for my dog, he got vaccinated right next to me while playing outside. 0 pain or stress for my pet. The nurses are amazing, done it all while playing and petting him.

I will still be staying a loyal customer to this clinic.:)

I’ve been taking the cats here for nearly ten years now. The practice has really gone downhill in the last year, since new owners. All the good vets have left, like Lionel. They don’t even offer the 24/7 care like before. Wait times of up to an hour even when you have an appointment. The vets and receptionists are scarce and look tired. They also charge £7 for an insurance claim admin fee, when they push medicines onto the pets themselves, the service really doesn’t warrant this charge. Moving the cats over to another vet. Also they sold half the car park which makes it tough to park and spaces limited.

This vets was recommended to me and I am really pleased my pet is in their care. The staff are approachable, friendly and caring. It is run really well & clean. It is easy to get an appointment and the cost is reasonable compared to some vets i have been with.
I left my last vets due to a receptionist who was rude and did not show any compassion after hours of losing my pet. I decided after years of being with them that I wanted to go somewhere else with my other pet. Even though I do have to travel further I do not regret my decision with the care shown at animal ark & the cost compared to some vets quotes is more affordable.

We have 3 cats and can honestly say Ark have been an absolute blessing looking after them.
It's actually a good feeling we have such a great team available when needed.

We have been using Animal Ark since we first got our beagle Sebastian 7 years ago. Whether it is for a regular check-up or something more serious, they always give us their undivided attention which is so important especially now in a time where the industry is in short supply for good vets. Super welcoming and professional from reception to nurses to vets. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

This used to be an amazing vet, but has gone downhill very quickly since it’s takeover. The last time we were there we were seen by a very tired looking vet who seemed to be the only one there. The last straw was finding out that their emergency service is now located in Thamesmead. It makes me very sad to say this as we used to be seen by Hailey who loved our cat Hercules as much as we did but that culture has gone when all the lovely vets left. The two stars given is just because everyone there is doing their best but the management is appalling and are the ones to blame here.
