Incredibly shocking first experience, will definitely not be returning to this veterinary clinic.

We booked in our cat for microchipping, and turned up on the day as required:
- Told there was no vet upon arrival
- Stated they "contacted us" leaving a voicemail
- Stated they "contacted us" via text message
- Receptionist incredibly rude

Contacting us was an outright lie by the receptionist, and presented evidence to the contrary, as that morning we received an automated text message with the clinic looking forward to our visit. Not a single issue they experienced was mentioned in that communication.

Furthermore to this, struggled to obtain an suitable booking alternative - so as I am a first time customer, not enjoying my experience here, decided to seek an alternative veterinary clinic.

Arrived with my young kitten for appointment after confirmation text of date and time to be told by a very rude receptionist I did not have an appointment as "there's no vets in today" and that they had called and left a message regarding that fact. Scrolled through my phone to highlight no missed calls, no messages other than a "see you then" to once again be told they had contacted me. Confirmed phone number was correct, even showed her the phonelog. To forget to contact me is one thing but not to admit it is unforgivable. One scared kitten and not even quick to reschedule. Rude and unhelpful, worse experience at a vet having owned pets for over 20 years. A different receptionist had previously pushed pet plan sale as well stating unlimited claw cutting was included. Though common in other countries like USA as well as declawing, both RSPCA and PDSA say this is not needed unless medically advised. Wrong information and lack of knowledge of kittens given by those who are front of house to a veterinary practice. Contacted another vet and they were helpful and friendly. Recommend Sandyhole any day over this place.

Called first thing in the morning, and they gave me an emergency appointment straight away for my Frenchie puppy who had an ulcer on her eye. Great friendly staff from reception right through to vet 😁

The vet was very friendly, he was also very good with my 2 year old keeping entertained while seeing to my pet

Got changed over £100 to have my rabbit put to sleep. Should have shopped around as the Companion Care vets at strood quoted only £40 when I researched this extortionate fee.

I have been using this vet for nearly 8 years and normally i am happy with them however, i need to get my cats som flea treatment but they are now saying i cant order it without taking my cats in for a health check, which i have never been made to do before they normaly just need an annual weight check to make sure their weight is correct for the flea treatment. Not only have they now decided they need a health check before flea treatment i am absalutely disgusted with the fact that they are giving flea treatment to other pets but not requesting they have an annual checkup . So they are wanting to make me pay for an annual health check before giving me advocate but are not charging someone else for this. They have denied this but my friend has confirmed that they have been getting advocate every month for the past 3 years and never had a health check. How can you have one rule for one person and another rule for someone else.

I called and got an emergency appointment almost immediately. Within twenty minutes of the call I was in the vets getting my cat checked out. The receptionist was incredibly nice and helpful and showed such an interest in my cats health. The vet was so helpful and checked my cat over thoroughly and reassured me and gave her a treatment plan! He also seemed very interested in my cat and was super gentle and nice to her and this relaxed her. She is usually a biter and gets distressed but she was completely fine!

Very disappointed with our experience today. We’ve had our dogs registered with Companion Care, Maidstone for the last 6 years but after today I will be getting all of our dogs registered elsewhere. We called today because our Frenchie was constantly vomiting and his breathing was erratic. We were told that you couldn’t see him because you didn’t have a competent vet in to treat him which is really not acceptable. This is not the first time we have tried to make an appointment and be told you can’t see our dogs so really what is the point in staying. We also had our cat put down earlier in the year which we made Companion Care aware of but 2 weeks before Christmas you send us vouchers addressed to our cat. I know this would have been an accident but my wife was a little upset by it. After today though I’ve lost faith with Companion Care as the service has gone downhill.
