Amazing service for accepting and arranging short notice appointment for my Scottish Terrier Kola. Kola also like the lady vet who was gentle and kind. Been a customer for 23 years and only ever experienced exceptional service.

No problem with the vets themselves but their admin policy is a disgrace. Staff are not trained/allowed to take your pet insurance details at time of payment. Their procedure involves you having to pay up front after treatment then go home, download, print off and sign forms from your insurance company for yourself and the vet, complete one and return both to the surgery for the vet's signature. Only then will they put in an online claim for vet's fees with your insurance company. To add insult to injury they then charge you an additional £12.36 for the extra hassle and having to pay the full charges up front. Furthermore, only one member of staff can do this and if she's off you have to wait. I was told she can take up to a fortnight to confirm your claim once she has your form because "she's also the head nurse so she's very busy." so if, like me, you have 7 days to make a claim you may need to consider going to a more efficient surgery or your pet insurance will be worthless.

I was advised that my pet would be welcome to register at this practice and a full verbal history was taken. I was asked to request her medical records which was a time consuming process, and then told that she would never have been taken on as a patient anyway due to vet shortages! Meanwhile my pet was in pain, exacerbated by the delay. Very poor service and not considerate of animal welfare.

Always professional and friendly all my dogs have been treated in this practice and staff will always make you feel that you're not being a nuisance

They fitted us in the day before Christmas eve. The vet spent time to explain what the issue and treatment was and also chatted through other things I could do to help my pet and hopefully reduce the need for further treatment. Thank you.

The best Vets in Torfaen. Always happy to help and to fit you in if you have any pet concerns. Receptions staff, nurses and vets are all fantastic too.
