We had a 3 tier, semi naked cake for our wedding. Ruth was very friendly and helpful when we were choosing a style and flavours, working well around a tight schedule. Ruth liaised directly with our venue and placed the topper we provided perfectly amongst the fruit decorations on top so we had absolutely no worries about the cake being ready on time.
The cake was light and delicious, it went down very well with all our guests.

We opted for a cupcake tower instead of a wedding cake, Ruth did a fantastic job and it looked amazing. We had so many compliments from our guests on the cakes & their set up. They looked absolutely gorgeous, tasted delicious and were a real feature. From the initial enquiry email to the wedding the whole process was a dream and totally stress free with Ruth absolutely smashing our theme.

Ruth made the cake and cookie favours for our wedding. We had a hard decision of which 3 flavours for the cake as all the samples that we tried were delicious. The cakes Ruth creates are a work of art and taste amazing. The cookies were incredible too and all our guests loved them. We chose Ruth to make our wedding cake in July 2022 after we tried her samples, which she kindly hand delivered to our venue for one of our wedding meetings. Ruth was really easy to work with and held a Zoom call to talk through the exact look we wanted and to finalise the details. The cake turned out exactly as I envisaged it and looked great. We chose a different flavour for each layer - Vanilla Sponge, Cookies n Cream and Lemon - and they all tasted amazing! Would highly recommend Ruth and Southwell Cakery.

Ruth made my husband and i a 3 tier semi naked cake for our wedding and our expectations were more than exceeded! we chose banoffee, chocolate mud and red velvet and they were easily the best cakes we have tasted and were definitely a hit at the wedding. Wow, what can I say...the wedding cake we ordered was absolutely incredible! I'd tried a few samples from other local specialist wedding cake suppliers around Nottingham; but all of them left us feeling a little bit disappointed...until I happened across Ruth at Southwell Cakery. It only took one piece of sample for us both to start grinning at each other like kids in a candy shop - and somehow the actual wedding cake was even better!
Don't bother looking anywhere else for a wedding cake supplier; Ruth is the best there is!
