The experience from start to finish was great. Easy to book online and what a good idea to have the necessary forms online so you don't spend five minutes on a clipboard when you arrive! The place is easy to find, close to the city centre, and there were clear instructions on parking so I got parked for free right outside.
Gemma met me at the front desk and was just lovely, walking me through the whole process and putting me at ease. Everything has been thought of and I was away and floating in no time. My neck and shoulders are very stiff so I made use of the option to use a little floating support behind my head, which is a really helpful idea. I appreciated the few minutes of music that start and end the float, and also how easy it is to turn the light on and off as you wish. I had it on for about half the time and really enjoyed it both ways. It honestly felt like I was in there for about 20 minutes, it flew by!
After I showered I headed to the little relaxation room and had some water, declining a herbal tea although it's a really nice touch. The room is beautiful and it was great to chat to Gemma again before I left.
I've written a mammoth review because I know that float tanks are new to a lot of people and I hope it's reassuring to know how well organised everything is, so you can just focus on relaxing into the float. I'm also a pretty anxious person so I like knowing I'm going somewhere with a well planned setup :) I can't wait to go back sometime soon - I felt so chilled out afterwards and my muscles were really relaxed, even those obstinate shoulders. Thanks for a great experience!
- free parking (rather than a parking app that didn’t work stressing you out before you started!)
- toilets! Having the only toilets outside in another building was a big negative. What if you need it while in the water (especially if pregnant) what if you need it straight after you come out the water, due to change in temperature like I did? What if you are on your monthly and need a hygiene bin before or after the experience? No bin of any kind in the changing room. Not good. Must be planned by a male!!!
- if you get a drip of the salty water in on your face or in your eyes you’re supposed to spray fresh water in your eyes. This doesn’t solve the problem! Still need to dry / wipe face with a towel, this could be hanging over the edge or something. Luckily I did this as I’d brought my own extra towel; highly recommended.
- sound/music option. It’s all very well having it as silent experience but we are not all the same and the welcoming / calming wishing water and soft music player at the beginning should be there as an option for some for the whole time, like the lights are an option.
- the light on/off button needs to be much easier identified, either a tiny glow or a texture to find it easier in the pitch black and it needs 2 brightness options as when you first put it on it’s much too bright after the dark. Needs a one push very soft-glow option and a double push brighter option.
- water to drink in the room
- an option to light the room more when you get out as I was dressing in a tiny dim light and couldn’t really find anything - tricky when they tell you to be quick!!
I’m just frustrated that for such a modern new experience so many of these details have not been thought about. Once I was settled the actual experience was good but these above things lessened the pleasure of the experience.
I had wished 5 mins after getting in I had taken the neck/head support float in as I did feel a bit of discomfort in my neck and upper shoulder area but after 10mins it passed and I can say after having neck massages over the last year to help with tightness in my neck and not being able to fully look to the left or right I certainly could afterwards, so I am one happy person.
I do feel that when I go again the experience will be even better as I know what to expect and will relax even more into it.
Thank you Jarrod for all your kind help over the phone with explaining everything and car parking and to Josh who explained it all again on the day and even put the other lights on for me prior to going in the pod as once I take my glasses off I can’t focus very well in the dark, but by time I got out they had adjusted and I’d worked out where everything was.
Definitely doing it again

I was initially very nervous and confused about how it all worked. But I think it was josh, seemed to explain it all very well. Afterwards I was happy and relaxed. I'll definitely be coming back.
One piece of advise. If your new at this it's worth trying the neck float for extra support. You can always throw it out the pod if you end up not needing it.
I definitely felt more relaxed than the first time since I knew what to expect from the float. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The chill out room was lovely and the complimentary herbal tea is great.
I would highly recommend going here!
