Very customer unfriendly! Far from covid secure! Over a half of staff won't wear a mask and yet the customers are obligated to do that. A woman with running nose at the till when asked about the mask said she didn't have one and that's it's recommended but not obligatory. Extremely disappointed. Made me feel very unsafe. Only a few items cheaper than in leading supermarkets. Poor reception so it's hard to compare the prices. Not to mention plenty of expired products on the shelves...

Very poor service from Makro today no one at the express checkout, no one at customer service. Even when they annouced for tellers no one came they were too busy packing tobacco. Why be a wholesaler when you cant serve the customers at checkout?

Hi I what to give a big shout out to the young beautiful woman at Charlton Makro her name is Gloria. I have met her a few times she as been so helpful and has a lot of patience and compassion for Makro customers because I am one of them and I have seen her interaction with other customers. . She is differently a leader she can teach others how to have beautiful,meaningful customer service with Makro customers. I am a manager myself I can say you have a great staff member with you. I believe she should be a manager because she definitely as people skills. I have never wrote a review regarding a person but I had to do this because of the great customer service I have received from this young woman great job Gloria Higher Heights.

I've shopped in Makro since I was a kid. Yes it's busy on some days, which makes it difficult for the staff to get through the queues quickly but they try their best. We visited recently and it was a pleasant experience. No queues, stock was easily found. They have separate sections now for bakery etc. It's very easy to find what you need. Plenty of parking outside. Just be prepared for queues.

You van find most of the restaurant stuff including meat and fresh fish.

To the rude lady that was at the checkout this morning when my contactless card declined as it needed the pin entered into the machine and she made a rude comment that "she's not the bank", really ruined a lovely early morning shopping, considering it was 7:30 am, three happy Teachers shopping for our staff party. Do better Makro train your employers to be courteous. I wish I could give zero rating as a result of having my morning ruin.

I visited last week to enquire about ordering lobsters for Christmas and was advised by the fishmonger they are unaware of their stock and have stopped taking bookings for lobsters due to past experiences where customers have made big orders and have not come to collect them.

He kindly advised I come in and check the following week and just order as and when I come in.

I followed the colleague’s advice and visited Makro yesterday & saw that there were some lobsters in the tank. I enquired and a different colleague simply said no and that all the lobsters are all reserved. I mentioned the advice given from last week and he then replied they are taking bookings as they knew how much stock they were getting.

As a customer I left feeling very deflated and frustrated due to the mixed messages from the team. I do not think it is fair to have a ‘booking system’ when it suits the store.

In the run up to Christmas, the store needs to have set rules and information around ordering seafood as it is not fair for all customers. Due to the mixed message and inconvenience I am leaving a 1* review.

The store itself is quite run down and needs refurbishment as everything is dated and the store is very dark and dingy.
