Very nice walking trails that follow an interesting quite extensive circular route. I have been round this area many times over the years but surprisingly have usually encountered few people on my stroll in comparison to other similar nature reserves. On my most recent visit I may have stumbled on a possible reason why it tends to be quiet.

Lovely area located in Preston, it's hard to believe it's in the middle of the city - nice piece of forest, wild life and country side in one place.

Probably nicer in summer. Good small walk but either lots of steps and/or a couple of slopes to contend with as well as stiles. The first stile we came to was at the beginning of the walk. It had 3 steps up, quite spaced out, quite hard work. The rest were more manageable. All stiles we saw had gaps for dogs to go through. Dogs have to be on leads.

Love taking my dog for a walk here. I just wish that people would take their litter home with them or at least put it in the bins. We do a litter pick every time we go and it is mostly cigarette boxes, plastic bottles, sweet and crisp wrappers.

Got to really explore the nature reserve during the pandemic, where you could really take advantage of exercising, especially with all the stairs.

Beautiful calm place to go walking and enjoy the air, you can come across the odd deer now and then, the cows are great company too. It is dog friendly as far as I know.

If you walk all the way down to the river and follow it along you can get an area low enough to touch the water. My nephew loved it.

A lovely place for a walk, with fantastic views throughout. A good place to visit on your own, with family and / or friends. It's wonderful listening to the wildlife too.

Just love this place for the peaceful time you can have there. Not overrun with crowds or screaming kids, you can actually hear nature around you. Great at any time of the day.
