The Surrey Wine Cellar

I always used to nip to France to buy wine, but discovered by chance the Surrey Wine Cellar. Not only did they manage to get all my favourite wines for a great price, Paul went the extra mile to introduce me to great alternatives as well many of which were nicer than my original wine. I can't fault the friendly and personal service I receive whenever I visit and haven't shopped elsewhere since. If you haven't been there yet or looked at their online sales you should.

Great little wine shop in Chobham ran by an enthusiastic, knowledgeable man that can help and advise on selecting a wine for any occasion. Plenty of varieties available and they even deliver locally as well! Been using Paul and The Surrey Wine Cellar for years and I highly recommend them to anybody. Will be buying from him for years to come!

I was recommended this company by a friend, so I thought I’d give them a try - I’m so glad I did. The owner is VERY knowledgeable, and was happy to offer his advice and expertise. My purchase arrived quickly, was well packed and I was not disappointed with his suggestions. .

Ordered my item two weeks ago today. Gave them a full seven days and emailed them for a delivery time and date and ignored. Telephoned them directly and advised it would be the week just gone, and still nothing. I know £40 isn’t a great deal for a bottle of wine, but I feel like I’ve been mugged. Don’t worry, keep the money. At least I know where not to shop in the future.

They could not deliver my order, which was supposed to be in stock when I placed the order. I had to chase them for an update and eventually for a refund number of times, as they would not return phone calls or gave proper updates when they answered phone calls. I will not be returning.

I would advise you avoid this seller unless you like incredibly long waits for no product with zero communication at all.

I am approaching the year anniversary of me placing an order for some Japanese whiskey. What was supposed to be a christmas gift for last year never arrived, and required me to phone the shop, at which point I was told that the bottle had “smashed in the warehouse”, though I was still charged and my order 'completed' via email (why it required me to call still eludes me). I was promised that a whiskey buyer would have a look for me for a replacement and give me a call back - months passed with no update, despite me calling regularly for an update. In May or so I realised I was getting nowhere and I would like my money back please - every call I made I was promised a call back and never once received one.

I have been trying for months to just get a refund for a product that never arrived, and for which I have to expend an inordinate amount of effort to get zero response from Surrey Wine Cellar. I have had no response at all to previous emails or calls to the shop (which must be in double digits now). I would just like a refund of my money, and will have to now request a chargeback from my credit card company as I have had NOTHING from this company at all! A shocking way to run a business in my opinion - avoid.

Fabulous shop with a vast selection of wines and whiskeys. Whenever I pop in, I’m either served by Paul or James who make me feel welcome and are always keen to suggest new wines for me to try. I now belong to their wine club and have a lovely selection delivered to my door each months…
