West Street Alehouse is the best beer spot in Fareham! The owners and staff are super knowledgeable and friendly, the selection of beers is always excellent, and the vibe is always good.

Not only do they have excellent beers on tap, they also have a bottle shop where you can buy beers to take home. They always have offerings from local breweries too, so by supporting this local alehouse you're supporting loads of breweries.

Fantastic and very welcoming Real Ale pub. Always a great selection of beer available. All the staff are very friendly and very knowledgeable and will take the time to help you find a beer the suits your preferences. Can get busy at peak times but it only adds to the great atmosphere and, if anything, reassures you how good this pub really is. Plus only a short walk (5 mins) from the local train station.
Definitely worth a visit!!

Fantastic bar with knowledgeable staff who are passionate about what they do. Kat in particular is extremely warm and friendly, even when we have pushed time and last orders to their elastic limits. There are always a wide range of beers on sale, including seasonal specials like mulled cider, and special events such as comedy and board game nights. I have been visiting on a weekly basis for 2 years, and always have a great time.

Fantastic little pub, a real welcome addition to Fareham. Great selection of beers which changes regularly and friendly and knowledgeable owners and staff. A welcoming atmosphere for regulars and not so regulars. The toiletries and sanitary products in the toilet are a nice detail, and show how much the owners want their customers to feel welcome and comfortable. Highly recommended.

We have been visiting this taproom since it first opened. We pass many other pubs on the way, but we would much rather make the journey here. It's a bus journey for us to get to, so we don't visit as often as we would if we lived closer, but we get there as much as we can.
The the owners Kat & Steve and barman Sam always greet us when we visit, tell us about the beers they currently have on tap and pass any knowledge about them onto us.
They have all taken the time to chat to us about all things beer and lots of general chit chat and laughs too.
I love the taprooms character, the amazing different beers that they have on, their regulars are so friendly and a great laugh. We have had many enjoyable times here.
Thank you Kat, Steve and Sam for all your hard work in creating such a lovely place for us all to enjoy. We will see you again soon. 😊🍻

This is hands down the best pub in Fareham. The owners Steve and Kat are lovely, they are always friendly and welcoming. The pub has an ever changing selection of amazing beers and ciders. I couldn't recommend this pub enough. If I could award it 6 stars I would.

One of the best places around in my opinion. Great selection of drinks at a decent price and staff are ALL always friendly and happy to chat.

A few reviews personally attacking members of staff here and that is not on at all! They say they won't return...... Hopefully they don't. I absolutely will return however! ❤️❤️

When this ale house opened I thought it was the sort of place I’d like to visit but really wasn’t sure about going in solo. Over the last year I’ve visited quite a few times with a friend and I can only regret wasting all the time I didn’t go in. It’s a truly lovely bar- the ales are well kept and change frequently and all of the staff are very friendly and helpful, making suggestions of which beers to try this week and letting you have a taste if you ask nicely. They hold regular events and the lovely Kat was kind enough to find me a ticket for this week’s excellent comedy night when I’d left it a bit late. The whole place has a lovely family atmosphere- it’s really worth a try. PS you can even take your dog!
