Amazing food and a great atmosphere.
The staff were really friendly and very welcoming. The little pot of dominos on the table kept our girls entertained, a nice little touch.

If you're in the lakes, this is a great little pub away from the main stream tourists.

Called in for a light lunch and drinks. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, particularly with our young collie. We shared a whitebait starter and then had the fishcake. Both were well prepared and very tasty. The dog was given some water and a couple of biscuits.
All in all a very welcome stop during our walk.
It's a little out of the way, but very well worth the detour. Perfect if you're having a walk to the viewing point on Scout Scar.

I booked the wheatsheaf’s inn room just for an overnight stay, and I have to say the quality of room was amazing. The staff are lovely and so accommodating. I was also surprised at how lovely the breakfast was. Very much recommend for a cute little get away!

Fabulous meal with amazing service (thank you so much to the manager for being so accommodating and helpful :) ). Lovely set up, warm and cosy.

We had the veggie burger and steak and ale pie. Good portion sizes followed by cherry Bakewell and chocolate brownie with ice cream.

Will be back when we return and highly recommend.

Excellent experience. Highly recommend. Really Dog friendly. Easy to book (and glad we did for Sunday lunch). Would’ve liked a lamb choice for my roast and some apple sauce with my pork but those the only negatives. Quality of food was great; service was fast and friendly; atmosphere and decoration of the pub was lovely.

Amazing experience, highly recommend. Every one there is so nice, not just the staff. The staff were great, laughed at all of my Grandad jokes. Dog friendly. All in all a great place

Lovely pub in Brigsteer in a quieter part of the lake district. Very welcoming and friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, with plenty of space for us and our two dogs. Excellent breakfast we highly recommend staying here, or just pop in for food and a drink.
